16. The effect of core-valence correlation on transition metal clusters and surfaces : a theoretical study
Abstract : Ten studies, using the methods of quantum chemistry to study transition metal clusters and surfaces, are presented. The effect of including correlation between the core and valence-electrons are studied, both with an approximative operator and with the core-electrons explicitly correlated. READ MORE

17. Quantum Chemical Calculations on ESR, Core Excitations, and Isotope Effects in Molecular Systems
Abstract : In this thesis, quantum chemical calculations are undertaken mostly in order to interpret experimental results, but also to learn about computational techniques, their performance and their limitations. In paper I, the ionization-cleavage process of alkenes is investigated and two pathways are followed, one of initial cleavage and subsequent ionization and on the opposite, the other one of initial ionization and subsequent cleavage. 18. Studies of Single and Multiple Ionization Processes in Rare Gases and some Small Molecules
Abstract : In this thesis various aspects of photoionization are investigated with respect to both single and multiple electron emission from atoms and molecules. The studies include both valence and core levels and involve transitions which leave the atoms or molecules in various charge states. READ MORE

19. Multi-Electron and Multi-Ion Coincidence Spectroscopy of Single-Photon Ionization Processes in Molecules
Abstract : This thesis presents experimental investigations of multi-electron and multi-electron-multi-ion coincidence measurements of samples in the gas phase utilizing a versatile time-of-flight magnetic bottle spectrometer technique. These investigations of multiply ionized atomic and molecular species provide valuable information on, and understanding of, ionization processes and dissociation mechanisms highly relevant to the development of electronic structure theories. 20. Free Clusters Studied by Synchrotron-Based X-ray Spectroscopy: From Rare Gases to Metals
Abstract : The main topic of this Thesis is the x-ray spectroscopic studies of free nano-clusters with size more than 10^3 atoms. The photoelectron spectroscopy experiments on rare gas and metal clusters were performed at beamline I411 at MAX-lab National Swedish synchrotron radiation facility. Free rare-gas clusters are simplest objects in cluster research. READ MORE
