  1. 1. Modelling and control of a line-commutated HVDC transmission system interacting with a VSC STATCOM

    University dissertation from Stockholm : KTH

    Author : Paulo Fischer de Toledo; KTH.; [2007]
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Keywords : HVDC transmission; LCC – Line-commutated Current-source Converter; STATCOM; VSC – Voltage Source Converter; Space-Vector complex vector ; transfer-function; frequency-domain analysis; TECHNOLOGY Electrical engineering; electronics and photonics; TEKNIKVETENSKAP Elektroteknik; elektronik och fotonik;

    Abstract : The interaction of an HVDC converter with the connected power system is of complex nature. An accurate model of the converter is required to study these interactions. The use of analytical small-signal converter models provides useful insight and understanding of the interaction of the HVDC system and the connected system components. READ MORE

  2. 2. Robust Control of an Induction Motor Drive

    University dissertation from Stockholm : KTH

    Author : Henrik Mosskull; KTH.; [2006]
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TECHNOLOGY Information technology Automatic control; TEKNIKVETENSKAP Informationsteknik Reglerteknik;

    Abstract : This thesis considers robust control of an induction motor drive, consisting of an input filter, a voltage source inverter and one or several induction motors in parallel. The motor torque is here controlled by using the method Indirect Self Control (ISC), and power oscillations between the inverter and the input filter are damped by means of a stabilization controller in an outer feedback loop. 3. 3. Harmonic Mitigation in Traction Drives

    University dissertation from Department of Industrial Electrical Engineering and Automation, Lund Institute of Technology

    Author : Hans Bängtsson; Lunds universitet.; Lund University.; [1999]
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Mechanical engineering; hydraulics; converter; line interference; track circuit; Railway signalling system; vacuum technology; vibration and acoustic engineering; Maskinteknik; hydraulik; vakuumteknik; vibrationer; akustik;

    Abstract : In railway traffic the low friction between wheel and rail causes long braking distances, normally much longer than the sight distance of the driver, i.e. if the driver starts the braking when a problem on the track is discovered, it might be too late to brake the train. Therefore, safe railway traffic can not only rely on the driver. READ MORE

  4. 4. Power Control Systems for PM Synchronous Flywheel Alternators

    University dissertation from Uppsala : Institutionen för teknikvetenskaper

    Author : Janaína Goncalves de Oliveira; Uppsala universitet.; [2009]

    Abstract : Flywheel systems are attractive in hybrid and electric vehicles, being able to handle the large power when accelerating and for regenerative braking. The combination of a flywheel device with a battery source has several advantages, such as higher peak power capacity, higher energy density and a decrease of the number of charging/discharging cycles in the battery. 5. 5. Low-Power Delta-Sigma Modulators for Medical Applications

    University dissertation from Linköping : Linköping University Electronic Press

    Author : Ali Fazli Yeknami; Linköpings universitet.; Linköpings universitet.; [2014]

    Abstract : Biomedical electronics has gained significant attention in healthcare. A general biomedical device comprises energy source, analog-to-digital conversion (ADC), digital signal processing, and communication subsystem, each of which must be designed for minimum energy consumption to adhere to the stringent energy constraint.
