  1. 1. Investigations of New Biomimetic Transamination Systems and Inclusion Complexation with Cyclodextrins

    Author : Anders Hjelmencrantz; Centrum för analys och syntes; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; stereochemis; bicyclooctanes.Transamination; complexation; cyclodextrins; proton transfer; hydride transfer; stereochemistry; Transamination; Organic chemistry; Organisk kemi;

    Abstract : Two new transamination systems are described. The first example is a dibenzo[a,d]- cycloheptene containing system, designed to accomplish a [1,3]-hydride transfer. Several catalysts have been examined for this purpose. tris-Pentafluorophenyl borane was found to be the most efficient catalyst. READ MORE

  2. 2. Conformational Dynamics of Carbohydrates Studied by NMR Spectroscopy and Molecular Simulations

    Author : Jennie Östervall; Göran Widmalm; C. Allen Bush; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Carbohydrates; NMR; Molecular Dynamics; Conformation; Dynamics; Residual Dipolar Couplings; Cyclodextrins; Oligosaccharides; Organic chemistry; Organisk kemi;

    Abstract : Carbohydrates play important roles in biological processes. Their function is closely related to their conformation. In this thesis, conformational studies of carbohydrates by NMR spectroscopy and molecular dynamics computer simulations are described. READ MORE

  3. 3. Sensitivity and selectivity studies in capillary electrophoresis

    Author : Maria Petersson; Centrum för analys och syntes; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; peptides; dansyl amino acids; imaging detection; cyclodextrins; enantiomer separation; acoustic levitation; solid-phase extraction; preconcentration; capillary electrophoresis; micellar electrokinetic chromatography; drugs; Analytical chemistry; Analytisk kemi;

    Abstract : Capillary electrophoresis is characterised by high separation efficiency, applicability to a wide range of compounds, small sample and solvent consumption and simple instrumentation. To improve sensitivity using on-line absorbance detectors, which are hampered by the short optical path length, sample volumes in the microlitre range were concentrated to nanolitre volumes either off-line or on-line. 4. 4. An Alkaline Active Cyclodextrin Glycosyltransferase from an Alkaliphilic Bacillus agaradhaerens

    Author : Rita Martins; Bioteknik; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; cloning; characterization; purification; 16S rRNA gene analysis; screening; alkaliphiles; soda lakes; Bacillus agaradhaerens; cyclodextrins; cyclodextrin glycosyltransferase; alpha-amylase family; sequencing; immobilization; Biotechnology; Bioteknik;

    Abstract : Soda lakes represent the most stable naturally-occurring alkaline environments on Earth and harbour a diverse population of alkaliphiles. Alkaliphilic microorganisms have attracted a great interest due to their ability to produce extracellular enzymes that are active and stable at high pH values. READ MORE

  5. 5. Evaluation of modified cyclodextrins for chiral separations in gas chromatography and capillary electrophoresis

    Author : Jeanette Olsson; []
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : ABSTRACTAn evaluation of different derivatized cyclodextrins as chiral selectors for enantiomer separations has been performed with capillary electrophoresis and gas chromatography. Using gas chromatography, resolution of the enantiomers of atropisomeric PCB congeners, o,p-DDT and o,p-DDD was attempted on columns containing a mix of chiral selectors. READ MORE
