1. Quantification of Radiation Induced DNA Damage Response in Normal Skin Exposed in Clinical Settings
Abstract : The structure, function and accessibility of epidermal skin provide aunique opportunity to study the DNA damage response (DDR) of a normaltissue. The in vivo response can be examined in detail, at a molecularlevel, and further associated to the structural changes, observed at atissue level. READ MORE

2. In vitro and in vivo studies on biodegradable matrices for autotransplantation
Abstract : Tissue engineering (TE), one of the most rapidly growing fields of life science, is an interdisciplinary area in which technical, biological and medical expertise co-fertilize on another with the ultimate aim of restoring, maintaining or improving tissues and/or organs. This purpose links TE closely to research concerning reconstructive plastic surgery. READ MORE

3. On percutaneous implants fate and feature
Abstract : Abstract The main objective of this thesis was to investigate skin reactions around percutaneous abutments in the facial and retroauricular regions. Secondary objectives were to investigate the number of lost extraoral implants and their co-morbidity over time, for example complications because of skin reactions due to the skinpenetrating abutment. 4. Impaired reparative processes in particular related to hyaluronan in various cutaneous disorders : a structural analysis
Abstract : Cutaneous reparative processes, including wound healing, are highly developed procedures in which a chain of actions occurs to reconstitute the function of the wounded tissue. To prevent a delayed or excessive reparative process it is important to understand how this procedure develops and is maintained. READ MORE

5. Pamoplantar Pustulosis. Pathogenetic Studies with Special Reference to the Role of Nicotine
Abstract : Palmoplantar pustulosis (PPP) is a chronic disease of unknown pathogenesis. Most of the patients were smokers. High prevalence of a number of autoimmune diseases was observed among the patients (thyroid disease 14%, gluten intolerance 8%, diabetes type 1 3%). Eosinophils and neutrophils were found in large numbers in the pustules. READ MORE
