  1. 1. Aromatic Allylation via Diazotization; Application in synthesis of heterocyclic compounds

    Author : Fredrik Ek; Centrum för analys och syntes; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Bengamide analogue.; parallel synthesis; trimethylsilyl azide; cycloaddition; imidazole; fused tetrazole derivatives; iodocyclization; benzazepine; tert-butyl nitrite; allylic bromide; aromatic allylation; diazotization; Organic chemistry; Organisk kemi;

    Abstract : A new method for allylation of aromatic systems has been developed. A number of arylamines were converted via diazotization to the corresponding allylaromatic compounds using tert-butyl nitrite and an excess of allylic bromides with complete regioselectivity. Electron-withdrawing groups, in the aromatic moiety, were necessary to obtain good yields. READ MORE

  2. 2. Synthesis and characterization of highly polybrominated diphenyl ethers

    Author : Daniel Teclechiel; Göran Marsh; Vladimir Nikiforov; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Environmental chemistry; Miljökemi; Environmental Chemistry; miljökemi;

    Abstract : Polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDEs) make up an important class of brominated flame retardants. The present production is mainly concentrated to DecaBDE but until recently also a significant production of PentaBDE and OctaBDE took place, leaving us with a large number of different PBDE congeners. 3. 3. Synthesis of highly brominated diphenyl ethers and aspects on photolysis and indoor spreading

    Author : Anna Christiansson; Åke Bergman; Eva Jakobsson; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Environmental chemistry; Miljökemi; Environmental Chemistry; miljökemi;

    Abstract : Adding chemicals to materials to decrease flammability can be dated back to as early as 450 BC when the Egyptians used alum to reduce flammability of wood. Almost 2500 years later brominated flame retardants (BFRs) are used to prevent ignition of textiles, electronics and polymers. READ MORE
