  1. 1. Modification of zeolites and synthesis of SAPO-templated carbon

    Author : Yunxiang Li; Niklas Hedin; Anders Palmqvist; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; microporous material; zeolite; SAPO templated carbon; hydrothermal synthesis; CVD; post modification; direct modification; snowflake; Materials Chemistry; materialkemi;

    Abstract : Zeolites are crystalline aluminosilicates with diverse structures and uniform porosities. They are widely used as catalysts, adsorbents and ion-exchangers in industry. Direct or post modifications optimize the performance of zeolites for different applications. In this thesis, IZM-2 and TON-type zeolites were synthesized, modified and studied. READ MORE

  2. 2. Identification and Characterization of Peptides and Proteins using Fourier Transform Ion Cyclotron Resonance Mass Spectrometry

    Author : Magnus Palmblad; Ole Nørregaard Jensen; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Materials science; Peptide; protein; peptide mass fingerprinting; identification; sequencing; protein structure; non-covalent interaction; modification; electrospray ionization; liquid chromatography; capillary electrophoresis; electron capture dissociation; Fourier transform ion cyclotron resonance mass spectrometry; cerebrospinal fluid; amyloid β-peptide; Alzheimer’s disease.; Materialvetenskap; Materials science; Teknisk materialvetenskap; Molecular Biotechnology; Molekylär bioteknik;

    Abstract : Mass spectrometry has in recent years been established as the standard method for protein identification and characterization in proteomics with excellent intrinsic sensitivity and specificity. Fourier transform ion cyclotron resonance is the mass spectrometric technique that provides the highest resolving power and mass accuracy, increasing the amount of information that can be obtained from complex samples. 3. 3. The Effect of Processing Parameters and Alloy Composition on the Microstructure Formation and Quality of DC Cast Aluminium Alloys

    Author : Majed Jaradeh; Torbjörn Carlberg; Lars Arnberg; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Aluminium wrought alloys; AA3xxx and 6xxx; Direct Chill Casting; Unidirectional Solidification; Bridgman technique; Process parameters; Microstructure; Composition modification; Thermal analysis; Inclusions; Metallographical investigations; Metallurgical process engineering; Metallurgisk processteknik;

    Abstract : The objective of this research is to increase the understanding of the solidification behaviour of some industrially important wrought aluminium alloys. The investigation methods range from direct investigations of as-cast ingots to laboratory-scale techniques in which ingot casting is simulated. READ MORE

  4. 4. Least squares modification of Stokes formula with application to the Estonian geoid

    Author : Artu Ellmann; KTH; []
    Keywords : geoid; stokes formula; least sequares modification; total topographic correction; total atmospheric correction; gps levelling;

    Abstract : Many applications in geodesy,geophysics and engineering require physically defined heightsrelated to an equipotential surface of the Earth, thegeoid.During the last two decades theincreased need for refined geoid models has been driven by thedemands of users of GPS, who nowadays must transformGPS-derived geodetic heights into orthometric heights, makingthem compatible with the local vertical datum.
