  1. 1. Topics in Content Based Image Retrieval Fonts and Color Emotions

    University dissertation from Linköping : Linköping University Electronic Press

    Author : Martin Solli; Linköpings universitet.; Linköpings universitet.; [2009]
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; image analysis; content based image retrieval; font recognition; color emotions; TECHNOLOGY Information technology Image analysis; TEKNIKVETENSKAP Informationsteknik Bildanalys;

    Abstract : Two novel contributions to Content Based Image Retrieval are presented and discussed. The first is a search engine for font recognition. The intended usage is the search in very large font databases. The input to the search engine is an image of a text line, and the output is the name of the font used when printing the text. Abstract : This thesis addresses a challenging problem: “how to let the visually impaired ‘see’ others emotions”. We, human beings, are heavily dependent on facial expressions to express ourselves. A smile shows that the person you are talking to is pleased, amused, relieved etc. READ MORE

  5. 5. The Balanced Electromagnetic Separation Transducer for Bone Conduction Audiometry and Hearing Rehabilitation

    University dissertation from Chalmers University of Technology

    Author : Karl-Johan Fredén Jansson; Chalmers tekniska högskola.; Chalmers University of Technology.; [2017]
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; demagnetization; image artifact; magnetic resonance imaging; bone vibrator; balanced electromagnetic separation transducer; magnetically induced torque; retention magnet; bone conduction;

    Abstract : Hearing via air conduction (AC) and bone conduction (BC) are attributed to bethe natural ways of conducting sound to the cochlea. With AC hearing, air pressurevariations are transmitted to the cochlea via the ear canal, whereas with BChearing, sound vibrations are transmitted through the skull bone to the cochlea. READ MORE
