1. On the clinical use of digitalis : with reference to its prescription, maintenance therapy, intoxication and the patient's knowledge
Abstract : Digitalis in one of the most frequently prescribed drugs, especially to elderly people. The prescription of cardiac glucosides (1978) was studied by using statistics from Apoteksbolaget (the National Corporation of Swedish Pharmacies). READ MORE

2. Dephosphorization of magnetite fines : surface reactions, flotation kinetics and fuzzy logic application
Abstract : The primary objective of the research work presented in this thesis is to investigate the influence of chemical and operational variables on the apatite flotation kinetics and to establish a suitable model using traditional method and fuzzy logic. The thesis consists of three parts, i.e. READ MORE

3. Water-based Flexographic Printing on Polymer-coated Board
Abstract : This doctoral thesis comprises three studies dealing with water-based flexography on polymer-coated boards, which have been presented in the five papers included at the end of the thesis. The first study (covered in three papers) presents results from characterisation of a matrix of water-based inks with respect to their rheology, surface tension, wetting, and fulltone printing performance on PE-coated board. 4. Direct Thrombin Inhibitors in Treatment and Prevention of Venous Thromboembolism: Dose – Concentration – Response Relationships
Abstract : For prevention and treatment of thrombotic diseases with an anticoagulant drug it is important that an adequate dose is given to avoid occurrence or recurrence of thrombosis, without increasing the risk of bleeding and other adverse events to unacceptable levels. The aim of this thesis was to develop mathematical models that describe the dose-concentration (pharmacokinetic) and concentration-response (pharmacodynamic) relationships of direct thrombin inhibitors, in order to estimate optimal dosages for treatment and long-term secondary prevention of venous thromboembolism (VTE). 5. On implant integration in irradiated bone : clinical and experimental studies
Abstract : Radiation has an impact on the processes involved in bone- healing, regeneration and remodeling. The mechanisms that cause impaired bone healing of dental implants are not fully understood. Adjunctive treatments to revers radiation effects are limited. READ MORE
