  1. 1. Tunable Filters based on Ferroelectrics and Semiconductor Varactors

    Author : Anders Eriksson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; High Temperature Superconductor HTS ; quality factor; tunable filter; phase transition; circular disc resonator; Cu BCB multilayer; KTaO3; ferroelectrics; dual mode filter; SrTiO3;

    Abstract : Experimental investigation and development of tunable microwave filters, based on single crystals of SrTiO3 (STO) and KTaO3 (KTO), form the main work of this thesis. The dielectric properties of STO and KTO crystals are evaluated experimentally for a wide temperature range, with a DC bias, using parallel-plate resonators with High Temperature Superconductor (HTS) and normal metal (Cu) electrodes. 3. 3. Design, Fabrication and Characterization of Microwave Passive Devices on Liquid Crystal Polymer Substrates

    Author : Xia Zhang; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; co-planar waveguide; parallel-coupled line resonator; dual-mode ring resonator; millimeter wave; ultra-wideband; Bandpass filter; liquid crystal polymer substrate; printed monopole antenna;

    Abstract : For microwave/millimeter (mm)-wave systems’ applications, as frequency is moving towards higher and higher bands, materials and integration technologies are witnessing higher performance demands and constraints. The materials presently used as mm-wave substrates are either expensive or show unsatisfactory performance. READ MORE

  4. 4. Reconfigurable Receiver Front-Ends for Advanced Telecommunication Technologies

    Author : Iman Ghotbi; Integrerade elektroniksystem; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; 5G; Receiver; Filter; Low-noise amplifier; FD-SOI; Calibration;

    Abstract : The exponential growth of converging technologies, including augmented reality, autonomous vehicles, machine-to-machine and machine-to-human interactions, biomedical and environmental sensory systems, and artificial intelligence, is driving the need for robust infrastructural systems capable of handling vast data volumes between end users and service providers. This demand has prompted a significant evolution in wireless communication, with 5G and subsequent generations requiring exponentially improved spectral and energy efficiency compared to their predecessors. 5. 5. Design and Fabrication of Ultra-Wideband Bandpass Filter Based on Liquid Crystal Polymer Substrates

    Author : Xia Zhang; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Bandpass filter; Automotive radar systems; Liquid crystal polymer substrate; Ring-resonator theory; Ultra-wideband; Millimeter wave;

    Abstract : For millimeter (mm)-wave systems’ applications, as frequency is moving towards higher and higher bands, materials and integration technologies are witnessing higher performance demands and consequently higher constraints. From a material’s point of view, the selection of substrate material has recently drawn considerable attention in the design of the whole mm-wave system. READ MORE
