1. Photoelectrochemical studies of dye-sensitized solar cells using organic dyes
Abstract : The dye-sensitized solar cell (DSC) is a promising efficient low-cost molecular photovoltaic device. One of the key components in DSCs is the dye, as it is responsible for the capture of sunlight. State-of-the-art DSC devices, based on ruthenium dyes, show record efficiencies of 10-12 %. READ MORE

2. Nanoparticle plasmonics for solar cell applications
Abstract : The energy demand of society increases rapidly, while the main source of today’s energy, the fossil fuels, eventually will be depleted and also poses environmental and climate hazards (though the global warming). Therefore there is a need for alternative, renewable energy sources, and solar photovoltaics (solar cells) will play an important role as one of them. READ MORE

3. Dye/Semiconductor Interfaces : An Electron Spectroscopic Study of Systems for Solar Cell and Display Applications
Abstract : The properties relevant for electron transfer processes between dye molecules and semiconductor substrates, titanium dioxide (TiO2) and zinc oxide (ZnO), have been studied by means of photoelectron spectroscopy, PES, near edge X-ray absorption spectroscopy, NEXAFS, and resonant photoemission, RPES.For dye-sensitized solar cells, the currently used dyes are ruthenium polypyridine complexes adsorbed to the semiconductor via carboxyl linker groups. 4. Overcoming the Mass Transport Limitations of Dye-Sensitised Solar Cells : Towards highly efficient and robust alternative redox mediator electrolyte DSSCs
Abstract : Dye-sensitised solar cells (DSSCs) have been subject to decadelong research interest, and may have some potential niche market applications. Recently, major advances in power conversion efficiencies have been achieved following the transition to cobalt polypyridine based redox mediators. READ MORE
