  1. 1. Harmonic signal modeling based on the Wiener model structure

    Author : Emad Abd-Elrady; Torsten Söderström; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Electrical Engineering with specialization in Signal Processing; Elektroteknik med inriktning mot signalbehandling;

    Abstract : The estimation of frequencies and corresponding harmonic overtones is a problem of great importance in many situations. Applications can, for example, be found in supervision of electrical power transmission lines, in seismology and in acoustics. READ MORE

  2. 2. Mating type switching and transcriptional silencing in Kluyveromyces lactis

    Author : Emad Barsoum; Åström Stefan; Laura Rusche; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Mating type switch; transcriptional silencing; alpha3; transposase; Ume6; Mts1; Ras; cAMP; K. lactis; Developmental biology; Utvecklingsbiologi; utvecklingsbiologi; Developmental Biology;

    Abstract : To explore the similarities and differences of regulatory circuits among budding yeasts, we characterized the role of unscheduled meiotic gene expression 6 (UME6) and a novel mating type switching pathway in Kluyveromyces lactis. We found that Ume6 was required for transcriptional silencing of the cryptic mating-type loci HMLα and HMRa. READ MORE

  3. 3. Selected Topics on Reconfigurable Intelligent Surfaces

    Author : Emad Farouk Ibrahim; Rickard Nilsson; Jaap van de Beek; Laura Cottatellucci; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Signalbehandling; Signal Processing;

    Abstract : Reconfigurable intelligent surface (RIS) is a promising technology for wireless communications applications. A RIS is a thin planar array that consists of multiple reflecting elements, each of which is connected to a tunable chip and can induce a controllable reflection coefficient to the incident signal. 4. 4. Nonlinear Approaches to Periodic Signal Modeling

    Author : Emad Abd-Elrady; Torsten Söderström; Torbjörn Wigren; Jonas Sjöberg; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Cramer-Rao bounds; frequency estimation; identification; limit cycle; nonlinear systems; periodic signals; Wiener model structure; Signal processing; Signalbehandling; Signalbehandling; Signal Processing;

    Abstract : Periodic signal modeling plays an important role in different fields. The unifying theme of this thesis is using nonlinear techniques to model periodic signals. The suggested techniques utilize the user pre-knowledge about the signal waveform. This gives these techniques an advantage as compared to others that do not consider such priors. READ MORE

  5. 5. Conducting Polymers Containing In-Chain Metal Centres : Electropolymerisation and Charge Transport

    Author : Johan Hjelm; Anders Hagfeldt; Emad Mukhtar; Robert Forster; A. R. Hillman; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Physical chemistry; Polymer electrochemistry; Conducting Polymers; Metal Complexes; Electropolymerization; Electron-hopping; Microelectrodes; Fysikalisk kemi; Physical chemistry; Fysikalisk kemi; Physical Chemistry; fysikalisk kemi;

    Abstract : Conjugated polymers that exhibit high electronic conductivities play key roles in the emerging field of molecular electronics. In particular, linking metal centres with useful electrochemical, photophysical, or catalytic properties to the backbone, or within the polymer chain itself, is a topic which has attracted a significant amount of interest lately.
