1. Removal of natural organic matter by enhanced coagulation in Nicaragua
Abstract : The existence of trihalomethanes (THMs) in a drinking water plant of Nicaragua has been investigated in order to see whether the concentration exceeded the maximum contaminant level recommended by the environmental protection agency of the United States (USEPA) and the Nicaragua guidelines. The influence of pH, temperature, chlorine dose and contact time on the formation of THMs were studied. READ MORE

2. Microsieving in municipal wastewater treatment : Chemically enhanced primary and tertiary treatment
Abstract : Municipal wastewater treatment plants are constantly forced to make improvements. The main objectives are to reduce energy consumption, to increase the treatment capacity and to improve the effluent water quality. Microsieves in combination with chemical pretreatment can potentially fulfil these objectives. READ MORE

3. Tissue Factor Biological Functions : Coagulation Activity in Microparticles and Signaling with Focus On Migration and Apoptosis
Abstract : Background: Tissue factor (TF) is a 47 kDa transmembrane glycoprotein known as the main initiator of blood coagulation. TF is over-expressed on many malignant cells and apart from increasing the risk of thrombosis, the presence of TF/FVIIa also promotes the progression of cancer and metastasis by intracellular signaling. 4. On platelet-rich plasma in reconstructive dental implant surgery
Abstract : Abstract Background Severe athrophy of the edentulous maxilla may require augmentation before implants can be placed. Autogenous bone has been used for reconstruction in block or in particulated form. READ MORE

5. Cellulose in Quaternary Ammonium-based Solvents: Dissolution, Modification and Coagulation
Abstract : Processing cellulose through dissolution and regeneration is essential for many applications, yet challenges are posed because it does not readily melt or dissolve in commonly used aqueous and organic solvents. Consequently, extensive efforts have been devoted to developing novel and efficient solvents for cellulose, as well as exploring new functionalization routes. READ MORE
