1. Robust design : Accounting for uncertainties in engineering
Abstract : This thesis concerns optimization of structures considering various uncertainties. The overall objective is to find methods to create solutions that are optimal both in the sense of handling the typical load case and minimising the variability of the response, i.e. robust optimal designs. 2. Simulation of Stainless Steel Tube Extrusion
Abstract : The simulation of hot extrusion processes is a difficult and challenging problem in process modeling. This is due to very large deformations, high strain rates and large temperature changes during the process. READ MORE

3. Modeling of the Stainless Steel Tube Extrusion Process
Abstract : Seamless tubes of stainless steel can be extruded using glass as a lubricant in the Ugine-Sejournet process. The process is performed at high temperature and is associated with large deformations and high strain rates. READ MORE

4. Melt-processing and properties of thermoplastic composites based on ethylene-acrylic acid copolymer reinforced with wood nanocellulose
Abstract : Composites reinforced with cellulose nanofibers (CNF), both modified and unmodified cellulose nanocrystals (CNC) and pulp fibers have been prepared through small-scale and large-scale methods. The composites were produced by water-assisted dispersion mixing, drying and compression moulding on the laboratory scale and by extrusion and injection moulding for the large-scale production. 5. Integrated Product and Process Design for Mass Customization: A Road Towards Patient Access to Individualized Pharmaceutical Therapy
Abstract : Individualized pharmaceutical therapy strives to attain optimal health outcomes a priori in all patients treated with pharmaceutical products by tailoring these products to each patient’s holistic needs. However, existing mass-produced pharmaceutical products are not available in sufficient variety to enable adequate tailoring to the diverse needs of individuals. READ MORE
