  1. 6. Individual Failure Rate Modelling and Exploratory Failure Data Analysis for Power System Components

    Author : Jan Henning Jürgensen; Lars Nordström; Patrik Hilber; Miguel Angel Sanz Bobi; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Asset management; condition monitoring; failure rate; failure rate modeling; Electrical Engineering; Elektro- och systemteknik;

    Abstract : A set of vital societal functions such as health and safety are necessary for today's society to function and to secure the life of its individuals. Infrastructure is required to provide and maintain these functions. READ MORE

  2. 7. Assessment of shear and energy‐absorption capacity of reinforced concrete elements under impulsive loads

    Author : Viktor Peterson; Anders Ansell; Mikael Hallgren; Yanyan Sha; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Impulsive loads; impact; blast; shear reinforcement; shear failure; Betongbyggnad; Concrete Structures;

    Abstract : Impulsive loads have been observed to cause brittle shear failure in reinforced concrete elements designed for ductile failure modes under static loads. Brittle failure modes exhibit poorer energy absorption capabilities compared to ductile flexural failure modes due to their limited deformation capacity, leading to premature failure. READ MORE

  3. 8. Controlling over-actuated road vehicles during failure conditions

    Author : Daniel Wanner; Annika Stensson Trigell; Lars Drugge; Mats Jonasson; Jochen Rauh; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; vehicle dynamics; vehicle safety; driver-vehicle interaction; failure analysis; wheel hub motor failure; over-actuation; fault-tolerant control; Vehicle and Maritime Engineering; Farkostteknik;

    Abstract : The aim of electrification of chassis and driveline systems in road vehicles is to reduce the global emissions and their impact on the environment. The electrification of such systems in vehicles is enabling a whole new set of functionalities improving safety, handling and comfort for the user. READ MORE

  4. 9. Appetite in patients with heart failure : Assessment, prevalence and related factors

    Author : Christina Andreae; Kristofer Årestedt; Anna Strömberg; Anna Forsberg; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Appetite; Age; Cognitive function; Depression; Health status; Heart failure; Malnutrition; Physical activity; Psychometrics; Pharmacotherapy; Sleep;

    Abstract : Background: Appetite is an important component in nutrition for maintaining the food intake needed by the body. Decreased appetite is a common clinical problem in patients with heart failure. It has a negative impact on food intake and possibly on malnutrition and health outcomes. READ MORE

  5. 10. Mineralocorticoid receptor antagonists in heart failure : exploring the gap between guideline-directed medical therapy and real-world practice

    Author : Anna Jonsson Holmdahl; Krister Lindmark; Helena Norberg; Ellinor Bergdahl; Fredrik Valham; Niklas Bergh; Umeå universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Heart failure; Mineralocorticoid receptor antagonists; estimated glomerular filtration rate; hyperkalemia; impaired renal function; worsening renal function; guideline-directed medical therapy; kardiologi; Cardiology;

    Abstract : Heart failure is the possible end-result of a variety of different diseases, where ischemic heart disease and hypertension are the most common causes in high income countries. In Sweden, heart failure has a prevalence of 2% in the adult population and rises to over 10% among people over 70 years of age. The 5-year all-cause mortality is about 50%. READ MORE
