  1. 1. Process analytical methods for monitoring of the film coating on pharmaceutical pellets and tablets using NIR spectrometry and image analysis

    University dissertation from Martin Andersson, Technical Analytical Chemistry, Lund University, P.O.Box 124, S-221 00 Lund, Sweden

    Author : Martin Andersson; Lunds universitet.; Lund University.; [1999]
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; PCA; PLS; PAC; NIR; chemometrics; moving samples; information depth; release rate; image analysis; near infrared; process analytical chemistry; thickness; coating; film; tablets; Pellets; granules; Analytical chemistry; Analytisk kemi;

    Abstract : Pharmaceutical tablets and pellets are often covered with a coating. There is a need for methods that enable monitoring of the growth of such films during processing. Such analyses can be performed using process analytical chemical methods based on near infrared (NIR) diffuse reflectance spectrometry. It provides with analyses that take only ca. READ MORE

  2. 2. Measurements of Film Flow Rate in Heated Tubes with Various Axial Power Distributions

    University dissertation from Stockholm : Fysik

    Author : Carl Adamsson; KTH.; [2006]
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; film flow; film thickness; dryout; power distribution; annular flow;

    Abstract : Measurements of film mass flow rate for annular, diabatic steam-water flow in tubes are presented. The measurements were carried out with four axial power distributions and at several axial positions at conditions typical for boiling water reactors, i.e. 7 MPa pressure and total mass flux in a range from 750 to 1750 kg/m2s. 3. 3. Molecular sieve film catalysts

    University dissertation from Luleå : Luleå tekniska universitet

    Author : Olov Öhrman; Luleå tekniska universitet.; Luleå University of Technology.; [2003]
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : In this study, well defined ZSM-5 films were prepared on monoliths, ceramic foams, alumina beads, glass beads and crushed quartz glass by further refinement of a method originally developed at the division of Chemical Technology, Luleå University of Technology. The supports were seeded with silicalite-1 seeds and hydrothermally treated, either at 75 °C or at 150 °C in a single or several steps. READ MORE

  4. 4. Film Formation from Dispersions - Preparation and Mechanisms

    University dissertation from Department of Polymer Science & Engineering

    Author : Stefan Erkselius; Lunds universitet.; Lund University.; [2006]
    Keywords : TEKNIKVETENSKAP; TECHNOLOGY; biopolymers; Polymerteknik; Polymer technology; decomposition; sodium persulfate; hyrdoxyethyl cellulose; salt; surfactants; drying; stabilization; latex; Film formation; dispersions;

    Abstract : Improved environmental consciousness and harsh legislation concerning volatile organic compounds (VOCs) during the 1980s led to an increase in the development in the field of polymer colloids. Solvent born coatings were replaced by polymer dispersions in aqueous solution, so called latex dispersions. READ MORE

  5. 5. Film thickness measurements for the characterization of EHL contacts

    University dissertation from Luleå : Luleå tekniska universitet

    Author : John Lord; Luleå tekniska universitet.; Luleå University of Technology.; [2001]
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : This licentiate thesis describes experimental techniques related to the investigation of elastohydrodynamic lubrication of point contacts as well as measurements and evaluation of results from laboratory tests. Elastohydrodynamic lubrication is one of the most severe forms of lubrication when a medium (often a liquid) is expected to separate two surfaces in a mechanical device under extremely high pressures and shear strain rates as well as with very thin lubricant films.
