  1. 1. Hydrodynamics and Heat Transfer in Vertical Falling Films with Smooth and Modified Heat-Transfer Surfaces – An Experimental and Numerical Investigation

    Author : Anders Åkesjö; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; film thickness; local heat transfer coefficient; numerical simulations; heat transfer; falling film; VOF; evaporation.;

    Abstract : High energy utilization efficiency is important to achieve a sustainable society. By having highly efficient heat exchangers, more energy can be recovered and reused at a lower cost. READ MORE

  2. 2. Aspects of Sorption Processes in Thermosiphon and in Falling Film Arrangements

    Author : Henrik Kockum; Avdelningen för kemiteknik; []

    Abstract : The evaporation plant is one of the major steam consumers in kraft pulp mills, which are the dominant type of chemical pulp mill in Sweden. Previous studies have shown potential to decrease the live steam demand for the pulp process, e.g. READ MORE

  4. 4. The Art of Repeating Oneself : Migratory self-adaptation: media transformation and authorship in Persepolis and The Patience Stone

    Author : Nafiseh Mousavi; Liviu Lutas; Karin Kukkonen; Rossholm Anna Sofia; Moira Inghilleri; Jens Schröter; Jan-Noël Thon; Golnar Nabizadeh; Linnéuniversitetet; []

    Abstract : This thesis studies the process and products of migratory self-adaptation: the practice of a migrant author recreating their own work in a new medium, and the baggage it brings with itself. Migratory self-adaptation is developed and analyzed in this research through a comparative and processual analysis of two cases of adaptation: Persepolis, a French autobiographical graphic novel written and drawn by Marjane Satrapi, the Franco- Iranian artist and writer, later turned into an animation movie co-written and codirected by Satrapi herself; and The Patience Stone, a novel written in French by Atiq Rahimi, the Franco-Afghan author, which is adapted to a homonymous film in Dari- Persian, co-written and directed by the author. 5. 5. Heat transfer in falling film evaporation of black liquor - Experiments and theory

    Author : Miriam Johansson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; evaporator; black liquor; falling film; kraft pulp mill; Heat transfer; evaporation; viscosity; correlations; experimental; non-Newtonian;

    Abstract : Pulp and paper industry uses a large part of the total amount of energy in industry in Sweden. The evaporation plant has the major energy demand in the kraft pulp mill, which is the dominant type of chemical pulp mill. Previous studies have shown potential to decrease the live steam demand for the pulp process, e.g. READ MORE
