  1. 1. Optimal Pin Fin Heat Exchanger Surface

    Author : Hamid Nabati; Jafar Mahmoudi; Mohsen Assadi; Mälardalens högskola; []
    Keywords : Pin Fin; CFD; Numerical Simulation; Power Transformer; TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIKVETENSKAP; Energy- and Environmental Engineering; energi- och miljöteknik;

    Abstract : This research presents the results of numerical study of heat transfer and pressure drop in a heat exchanger that is designed with different shape pin fins. The heat exchanger used for this research consists of a rectangular duct fitted with different shape pin fins, and is heated from the lower plate. READ MORE

  2. 2. Development and three-dimensional histology of vertebrate dermal fin spines

    Author : Anna Jerve; Per Erik Ahlberg; Martin Brazeau; Tatjana Haitina; Philippe Janvier; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; fin spine; paleontology; early vertebrate; histology; development; Biology with specialization in Evolutionary Organismal Biology; Biologi med inriktning mot evolutionär organismbiologi;

    Abstract : Jawed vertebrates (gnathostomes) consist of two clades with living representatives, the chondricthyans (cartilaginous fish including sharks, rays, and chimaeras) and the osteichthyans (bony fish and tetrapods), and two fossil groups, the "placoderms" and "acanthodians". These extinct forms were thought to be monophyletic, but are now considered to be paraphyletic partly due to the discovery of early chondrichthyans and osteichthyans with characters that had been previously used to define them. 3. 3. Turbulent Forced Convection Air Cooling of Electronics with Heat Sinks Under Flow Bypass Conditions

    Author : Hans Jonsson; KTH; []
    Keywords : forced convection; heat transfer; pressure drop; turbulent; air cooling; bypass; plate; strip; pin; fin; heat sink; electronics; experimental; numerical; CFD; TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIKVETENSKAP;

    Abstract : Air cooling is still the dominant method for dissipating theheat produced by electronic components. In a typical electronicdevice, the components are situated on a Printed Circuit Board(PCB). For most applications natural convection is sufficientto cool the components. READ MORE

  4. 4. The role of Nkx3.2 and Gdf5 during zebrafish skeletal development

    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Nkx3.2; Gdf5; zebrafish; jaw joint; joints; axial skeleton; appendicular skeleton; fin; enhancer conservation; CRISPR Cas9; OPT;

    Abstract : The vertebrate skeleton is composed of bony and cartilaginous structures that are developed under the control of numerous genetic networks. The transcription factor Nkx3. READ MORE

  5. 5. Numerical Analysis of Heat Transfer and Fluid Flow in Heat Exchangers with Emphasis on Pin Fin Technology

    Author : Hamid Nabati; Jafar Mahmoudi; Dan Loyd; Mälardalens högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; CFD; Heat exchanger; Pin fin technology; Cooling system; Power transformers; CO2; Energy- and Environmental Engineering; energi- och miljöteknik;

    Abstract : One of the most important industrial processes is heat transfer, carried out by heat exchangers in single and multiphase flow applications. Despite the existence of well-developed theoretical models for different heat transfer mechanisms, the expanding need for industrial applications requiring the design and optimization of heat exchangers, has created a solid demand for experimental work and effort.
