1. Optimization of Low-Level Controllers and High-Level Polymer Grade Changes
Abstract : Two design problems at different levels in the control hierarchy are considered; optimization of robust low-level controllers with constrained control signal activity and optimization of economical high-level polyethylene grade changes. As for the first design problem, a constraint on control signal activity due to measurement noise is presented and used when optimizing and comparing PI/PID controllers with measurement filters of different orders. 2. Drying of Multicomponent Liquid Films
Abstract : The convective drying of thin layers of multicomponentliquid mixtures into an inert gas, and the influence ofdifferent process controlling mechanisms on drying selectivityis studied. Drying experiments under gas-phase-controlledconditions are performed by low intensity evaporation, fromfree liquid surfaces, of ternary mixtures without non-volatilesolutes. READ MORE

3. Absorption Based Systems for Co-removal of Nitrogen Oxides and Sulfur Oxides from Flue Gases
Abstract : Enhanced control of nitrogen and sulfur emissions, found in many of industrial processes, is anticipated for decades to come. Stricter emission regulations require new technologies adapted to the new conditions at reasonable cost. READ MORE

4. Upscaling and Evaluation of Absorption Based Systems for Co-removal of NOx and SOx from Flue Gases
Abstract : As long as combustion remains a vital part of the energy system, the removal of nitrogen oxides (NOx) will be a challenge that will need to be addressed. In addition, emissions of sulfur oxides (SOx) will be a problem as long as fuels such as coal and oil are used, as is envisaged in every road map suggested by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPPC). 5. The dynamic behavior of the NiMH battery – Creating a versatile NiMH battery model
Abstract : To facilitate the shift from fossil to renewable energy sources, energy storage is needed to cope with the intermittent nature of technologies such as solar, wind, and wave power. One storage alternative is battery-based stationary energy storage. READ MORE
