1. Control of Hybrid Hydromechanical Transmissions
Abstract : This thesis deals with control aspects of complex hybrid hydromechanical transmissions for heavy mobile working machines. Control problems are identified and solved to facilitate the implementation and use of these systems. READ MORE

2. Design of Energy-Efficient High-Performance ASIP-DSP Platforms
Abstract : In the last ten years, limited clock frequency scaling and increasing power density has shifted IC design focus towards parallelism, heterogeneity and energy efficiency. Improving energy efficiency is by no means simple and it calls for a reevaluation of old design choices in processor architecture, and perhaps more importantly, development of new programming methodologies that exploit the features of modern architectures. 3. High-order finite difference approximations for hyperbolic problems : multiple penalties and non-reflecting boundary conditions
Abstract : In this thesis, we use finite difference operators with the Summation-By-Partsproperty (SBP) and a weak boundary treatment, known as SimultaneousApproximation Terms (SAT), to construct high-order accurate numerical schemes. The SBP property and the SAT’s makes the schemes provably stable. 4. Photonic crystals and photocatalysis : Study of titania inverse opals
Abstract : Due to an increase of human activity, an increase health risk has emerged from the presence of pollutants in the environment. In the transition to renewable and sustainable life style, treatment of pollutants could support the shifting societies. READ MORE

5. Novel Layered and 2D Materials for Functionality Enhancement of Contacts and Gas Sensors
Abstract : Chemical gas sensors are widely-used electronic devices for detecting or measuring the density levels of desired gas species. In this study, materials with established or potential applications for gas sensors are treated. READ MORE
