  1. 1. Distributed Road Grade Estimation for Heavy Duty Vehicles

    Author : Per Sahlholm; Karl Henrik Johansson; Emilio Frazzoli; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Automotive; estimation; distributed systems; automatic control; heavy duty vehicles; road grade; road maps; Automatic control; Reglerteknik;

    Abstract : An increasing need for goods and passenger transportation drives continued worldwide growth in traffic. As traffic increases environmental concerns, traffic safety, and cost efficiency become ever more important. Advancements in microelectronics open the possibility to address these issues through new advanced driver assistance systems. READ MORE

  2. 2. Iterative Road Grade Estimation for Heavy Duty Vehicle Control

    Author : Per Sahlholm; Karl Henrik Johansson; Jonas Sjöberg; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; road grade; estimation; heavy duty vehicle; Kalman filter; automatic control; Automatic control; Reglerteknik;

    Abstract : This thesis presents a new method for iterative road grade estimation based on sensors that are commonplace in modern heavy duty vehicles. Estimates from multiple passes of the same road segment are merged together to form a road grade map, that is improved each time the vehicle revisits an already traveled route. READ MORE

  3. 3. Towards Novel Biomarkers for Low-grade Glioma

    Author : Shala Ghaderi Berntsson; Anja Smits; Peter Siesjö; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : Low-grade glioma; prognosis; epilepsy; PROX1; DNA repair enzyme; PET; Physiological MRI; Neuroscience; Neurovetenskap;

    Abstract : Gliomas are common primary brain tumours that occur as low-grade (LGG) and high-grade gliomas (HGG). Typically occurring in younger adults, LGG has an indolent course with a median survival of 5-10 years, but carries an inherent potential for transforming into HGG. READ MORE

  4. 4. Programming in grade 7-9 : Action possibilities and constraints from the perspective of mathematics and technology teachers

    Author : Niklas Humble; Lena-Maria Öberg; Peter Mozelius; Stefan Hrastinski; Päivi Anneli Kinnunen; Mittuniversitetet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Abstract : The idea of using programming in fields outside of computer science is not new, but it has received renewed attention with the global trend of integrating programming in school curricula. In the Swedish context, mathematics and technology teachers for grades 7-9 have been significantly affected by the integration of programming. READ MORE

  5. 5. Angiogenesis in human renal cell carcinoma : hypoxia, vascularity and prognosis

    Author : Johanna Sandlund; Torgny Rasmuson; Börje Ljungberg; Kjell Grankvist; Anders Bergh; Elisabeth Kjellén; Umeå universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Endoglin CD105; CD31; prognosis; CA IX; HIF-2α; renal cell carcinoma; tissue microarray; immunohistochemistry; real-time PCR; stage; grade; Oncology; Onkologi;

    Abstract : Background: Angiogenesis is recognised as a critical step in tumour progression. The angiogenic switch is activated by various trigger signals, such as hypoxia, low pH, and genetic mutations. Renal cell carcinoma (RCC) is often an aggressive tumour, and advanced disease has limited treatment options and bad prognosis. READ MORE
