1. Experimental and Computational Predictions of Drug Solubility in Human Gastrointestinal Fluids
Abstract : The aqueous solubility of a drug is viewed as a pivotal property for its oral absorption since only dissolved molecules can permeate the gut wall and reach the systemic circulation. The fluids in the intestine, however, do not only consist of water and therefore poor water solubility may not necessarily imply a poor solubility in the intestinal fluids and resulting low bioavailability. 2. Complement-mediated kidney diseases: Genotype, phenotype and inhibition studies
Abstract : Complement-mediated kidney diseases are ultrarare conditions characterized by excess complement activation related in most cases to complement gene variants or circulating autoantibodies. These conditions are chronic and can lead to kidney failure. READ MORE

3. Risk and survival for colorectal cancer in northern Sweden : sociodemographic factors and surveillance programs
Abstract : BackgroundColorectal cancer (CRC) – i.e., cancer in the colon or rectum – is one of the most common cancers both globally and in Sweden. The risk for CRC is mainly related to age, heredity, and life-style risk factors. READ MORE

4. Radio Resource Allocation and Utilization in Multiple Radio Access Networks
Abstract : Meeting in a sustainable way the demands of an unprecedented explosive growth in the number of connected devices and mobile data traffic, next-generation mobile networks are expected to make flexible use of spectrum and provide higher capacity by a denser deployment of radio access network infrastructure. In addition, the allocation and the utilisation of radio access resources should improve spectrum usage efficiency and keep energy consumption low, implying the capability to effectively exploit the denser deployment of radio accesses and the co-existence of radio accesses belonging to one or multiple radio access technologies. 5. Pharmacometric tools to support translational drug development
Abstract : The use of model-informed drug development has been shown to save significant costs and improve decision making early in the drug development process. The work in this PhD thesis aimed to employ pharmacometric tools to support translational drug development from the preclinical to the late clinical stages. READ MORE
