  1. 1. Harmonic measures

    Author : Jonatan Vasilis; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; harmonic measure; square root of the Poisson kernel; Hardy space; p-Laplace operator; random walk; regular tree; discrete minimal thinness; Hardy space;

    Abstract : This thesis uses both analytic and probabilistic methods to study continuous and discrete problems. The main areas of study are the asymptotic properties of p-harmonic measure, and various aspects of the square root of the Poisson kernel. Fix a domain and a boundary point, subject to certain regularity conditions. READ MORE

  2. 2. A Study of Smooth Functions and Differential Equations on Fractals

    Author : Anders Pelander; Anders Öberg; Svante Janson; Alexander Teplyaev; Tom Lindström; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : Mathematical analysis; Analysis on fractals; p.c.f. fractals; Sierpinski gasket; Laplacian; differential equations on fractals; infinite dimensional i.f.s.; invariant measure; harmonic functions; smooth functions; derivatives; products of random matrices; Matematisk analys;

    Abstract : In 1989 Jun Kigami made an analytic construction of a Laplacian on the Sierpiński gasket, a construction that he extended to post critically finite fractals. Since then, this field has evolved into a proper theory of analysis on fractals. The new results obtained in this thesis are all in the setting of Kigami's theory. READ MORE

  4. 4. Boundary singularities of plurisubharmonic functions

    Author : Mårten Nilsson; Matematik LTH; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; pluripotential theory; envelope of plurisubharmonic functions; complex Monge-Ampère equation; Jensen measures;

    Abstract : We study the Perron–Bremermann envelope P(μ, φ):=sup{u(z) ; u ∈ PSH(Ω), (ddcu)n≥ μ, u^* ≤ φ} on a B-regular domain Ω. Such envelopes occupy a central position within pluripotential theory as they, for suitable μ and φ harmonic and continuous on the closure of Ω, constitute unique solutions to the Dirichlet problem for the complex Monge–Ampère operator. 5. 5. Nonlinear Structural Identification Using a Multi-Harmonic  Frequency Response Functions

    Author : Vahid Yaghoubi Nasrabadi; Thomas Abrahamsson; Andreas Linderholt; Martin Magnevall; Chalmers; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Nonlinear structure; inverse problem; grey box system identification; finite element model updating; identifiability; Fisher information matrix; multi-harmonic frequency response function; Maskinteknik; Mechanical Engineering;

    Abstract : In industrial structural dynamics problems, linear FE-models commonly serve to represent the global structural behavior. However, when test data are available they often show evidence of nonlinear dynamic characteristics. In that case, an initial linear model may be judged insufficient in representing the dynamics of the structure. READ MORE
