2. Power control strategies for renewable energy systems : The inverter's role in future power systems
Abstract : Connecting more non-dispatchable renewable energy sources (RESs) will result in a higher power variability and a lower system inertia when the synchronous generators are replaced by inverter-connected RES. Inverter control can be divided in three categories: grid-following, grid-forming (GFM) and grid-supporting. READ MORE

3. Modular Battery Systems for Electric Vehicles based on Multilevel Inverter Topologies - Opportunities and Challenges
Abstract : Modular battery systems based on multilevel inverter (MLI) topologies can possibly overcome some shortcomings of two-level inverters when used for vehicle propulsion. The results presented in this thesis aim to point out the advantages and disadvantages, as well as the technical challenges, of modular vehicle battery systems based on MLIs in comparison to a conventional, two-level IGBT inverter drivetrain. 4. Efficient Solid-State Power Amplifiers for RF Power Source Applications
Abstract : Radio Frequency (RF) power sources are extensively applied in various fields. Radioisotope production, i.e., the production of short-lived radioactive isotopes, for positron emission tomography (PET) is one of the most important applications in the medical and healthcare domains. 5. Dynamic Analysis of Harmonics in Electrical Systems
Abstract : Frequency domain analysis and design of power systems is complicated in the presence of harmonics, switching dynamics, nonlinearities, unbalances, and for systems with mixed ac/dc dynamics. The reason is that linearization of the system does not lead to a time invariant system, but a system with periodically time varying dynamics, which implies that there is coupling between different frequencies.
