1. Hybrid observers for systems with intrinsic pulse-modulated feedback
Abstract : Dynamical processes resulting from the interaction of continuous and discrete dynamics are often encountered in living organisms. Time evolutions of such processes constitute continuous variables that are subject to instant changes at discrete points of time. READ MORE

2. The Role of Projected Anatomy, Random Noise, and Spatial Resolution on Clinical Image Quality in Digital Mammography
Abstract : Due to the recent advances in digital detector technology, there is an increasing trend in the use of digital mammography (DM) as a concurrent modality with screen-film mammography (SFM). In order to fully realize its potential, the components of a DM system should be optimized with respect to clinical image quality in order for clinicians to make accurate diagnoses. READ MORE

3. Structure and Motion Estimation in Rigid Body Perspective Dynamic Systems
Abstract : Abstract This thesis concerns different aspects of recursive estimation of structure and motion in dynamic rigid body perspective systems, where the three-dimensional position of observed object feature points are expressed as states in a system of deterministic or stochastic differential equations describing the object motion, combined with a set of output equations in the form of two-dimensional perspective measurements obtained using a single camera. Firstly, a number of novel hybrid matching constraints are derived for the recovery of motion parameters in a rigid body perspective system where the measurements can be considered as arriving at closely spaced time instants. 4. Feedback Control and Sensor Fusion of Vision and Force
Abstract : This thesis deals with feedback control using two different sensor types, force sensors and cameras. In many tasks robotics compliance is required in order to avoid damage to the workpiece. Force and vision are the most useful sensing capabilities for a robot system operating in an unknown or uncalibrated environment. READ MORE

5. On motion planning and control for truck and trailer systems
Abstract : During the last decades, improved sensor and hardware technologies as well as new methods and algorithms have made self-driving vehicles a realistic possibility in the near future. Thanks to this technology enhancement, many leading automotive and technology companies have turned their attention towards developing advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) and self-driving vehicles.
