  1. 1. Hydrogeochemistry of Fe and Mn in small boreal catchments

    Author : Louise Björkvald; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; hydrogeochemistry; Fe; Mn; boreal catchments; spring flood; Other earth sciences; Övrig geovetenskap;

    Abstract : It is suggested that the overall understanding of the general hydrogeochemistry of a region is best understood from a landscape perspective. If so, this can provide useful information when planning monitoring programmes and influence of human activity. READ MORE

  2. 2. Landscape hydrogeochemistry of Fe, Mn, S and trace elements (As, Co, Pb) in a boreal stream network

    Author : Louise Björkvald; Carl-Magnus Mörth; Hjalmar Laudon; Christine Alewell; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; landscape hydrogeochemistry; boreal streams; spring flood; Fe; Mn; S; As; Co; Pb; sulphur isotopes; sulphate; organic S; DOC; spatial variability; temporal variability; wetlands; Earth sciences; Geovetenskap; geokemi; Geochemistry;

    Abstract : The transport of elements by streams from headwater regions to the sea is influenced by landscape characteristics. This thesis focuses on the influence of landscape characteristics (e.g. READ MORE

  3. 3. Hydrogeochemistry of arsenic, fluoride, and other trace elements in groundwater in northern Tanzania : Occurrence, distribution, and impacts on drinking water quality

    Author : Fanuel Josephat Ligate; Prosun Bhattacharya; Felix W Mtalo; Jyoti Prakash Maity; Joyanto Routh; KTH; []
    Keywords : Arsenic; Fluoride; Groundwater; Lake Victoria basin; Risk assessment; Sanya alluvial plain; Tanzania.; Aseniki; Bonde la Ziwa Victoria; Floridi; Maji yaliyopo ardhini; Tanzania; Tathmini ya hatari; Uwanda wa Aluvia ya Sanya.; Arsenik; Fluorid; Grundvatten; Viktoriasjön; Riskbedömning; Sanya alluvial slätt; Tanzania.; Mark- och vattenteknik; Land and Water Resources Engineering;

    Abstract : The occurrence of arsenic (As), fluoride (F-), and other trace elements (TEs) with potential toxicity in groundwater is a global environmental concern. According to the National water resource mapping database, about 76 % of the drinking water supply in Tanzania is abstracted from groundwater sources. READ MORE

  4. 4. Hydrogeochemistry of Naturally Occurring Arsenic and Other Trace Elements in the Central Bolivian Altiplano : Sources, mobility and drinking water quality

    Author : Mauricio Ormachea Muñoz; Prosun Bhattacharya; Marinus Eric Donselaar; KTH; []

    Abstract : The Bolivian Altiplano (BA) is a high plateau located in the western part of the country at an altitude of 3,600 to 3,900 meters above sea level and is bordered by the Eastern and Western Cordillera. Within the BA there is a large endorheic hydrologic system linking the Titicaca Lake in the north the Desaguadero River, lakes Uru-Uru and Poopó in the central part; and the Lacajahuira River and Coipasa and Uyuni salt pans in the south.
