  2. 2. Bioelectrochemical Applications of Reactions Catalyzed by Immobilized Enzymes

    Author : Xiao-Jing Tang; Centrum för analys och syntes; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Acetate Kinase.; NAD NADH recycling; Enzyme Electrodes; Enzyme reactors; Enzyme Immobilization; Electrochemical detection; Flow Injection Analysis; Analytical chemistry; Analytisk kemi;

    Abstract : The sensitivity of biosensors can be increased substantially by incorporation in a substrate recycling scheme. Based on the amplification of NAD+/NADH by the recycling reaction catalyzed by glycerol dehydrogenase (GDH) and diaphorase, NAD+/NADH can be determined amperometrically with around 1000 times higher sensitivity than for the substrate sensing mode. 3. 3. Nanoporous Aluminum Oxide – A Promising Support for Modular Enzyme Reactors

    Author : Marcus Kjellander; Gunnar Johansson; Gunnar Henriksson; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; nanoporous aluminum oxide; immobilized enzymes; bioreactor; Biokemi; Biochemistry;

    Abstract : Nanoporous alumina is a rather newly characterized material that so far has found limited use in the construction of bioreactors. The material has many advantages compared to conventional immobilization matrices. I have investigated its use in flow-through bioreactors. READ MORE

  4. 4. Direct electron transfer based biofuel cells : operating in vitro and in vivo

    Author : Magnus Falk; Malmö högskola; []
    Keywords : biofuel cell; direct electron transfer; enzymes; gold nanoparticles; implantable biomedical devices;

    Abstract : I vår moderna värd är vi väldigt beroende av elektrisk energi som vi använder för det mesta i får vardag: för att lysa upp våra hus, generera värme, driva våra datorer och mobiltelefoner och mycket mer. Produktion av elektrisk energi har dock ofta en negativ på-verkan på vår miljö. READ MORE

  5. 5. Chiral recognition on cellulases : The active sites of the enzymes are involved

    Author : Hongbin Henriksson; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Biochemistry; Biokemi; Biochemistry; Biokemi; biokemi; Biochemistry;

    Abstract : Two cellobiohydrolases (CBH I and CBH II) and endoglucanase I (EG I) fromTrichoderma reesei, and CBH 58 from Phanerochaete chrysosporium were immobilized onsilica as chiral stationary phases (CSPs) in HPLC for enantioseparation of a group ofpharmaceutical compounds. CBH I and CBH 58 wore excellent chiral selectors for β-adrenergic blocking agents, whereas CBH II displayed good enantioselectivity for someother compounds The CBHs share the common feature that their active sites are located intunnels.
