  1. 16. Compound-specific bromine isotope analysis of methyl bromide using GC-multiple collector mass spectrometry

    Author : Axel Horst; Örjan Gustafsson; David Bastviken; Ulla Sellström; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Abstract : The isotopic composition of ozone depleting methyl halides may provide valuable information on the sources and sinks of these compounds. However, so far mostly stable carbon isotope analysis of methyl chloride and methyl bromide has been attempted. READ MORE

  2. 17. Prussian blue analogue copper hexacyanoferrate : Synthesis, structure characterization and its applications as battery electrode and CO2 adsorbent

    Author : Dickson Odhiambo Ojwang; Gunnar Svensson; Jekabs Grins; Andrew Goodwin; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; copper hexacyanoferrate; synthesis; structure refinement; thermal dehydration; CO2 adsorption; kinetic analysis; in operando synchrotron X-ray diffraction; Inorganic Chemistry; oorganisk kemi;

    Abstract : Prussian blue (PB) and Prussian blue analogues (PBAs) are compounds with potential applications in a large variety of fields such as gas storage, poison antidotes, electrochromism, electrochemistry and molecular magnets. The compounds are easy to synthesize, cheap, environmentally friendly and have been pursued for both fundamental research and industrial purposes. READ MORE

  3. 18. Selective Comminution Applied to Mineral Processing of Critical Metals

    Author : Lorena Guldris Leon; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; selective comminution; compressive crushing; analytical method; minerals; critical metals; elements.;

    Abstract : The outstanding properties of tungsten and tantalum make them valuable metals and, in some cases, irreplaceable in applications. Due to the vital economic importance and limited supply, growing interest places these metals on the critical metals risk list. READ MORE

  4. 19. Micro-Optical Elements in Gallium Arsenide and Diamond: Fabrication and Applications

    Author : Mikael Karlsson; James R. Leger; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Materials science; Materialvetenskap; Materials science; Teknisk materialvetenskap; Materialvetenskap; Materials Science;

    Abstract : This thesis mainly treats the fabrication and applications of micro-optical elements in the semiconductor materials gallium arsenide (GaAs) and diamond.The recent trend in high-capacity data transfer using light as the information carrier creates new demands on the optoelectronic systems, such as small size, low cost and the integration of many components. 5. 20. Characterization of suspended particulate matter from freshwater : validation of a field filtration technique

    Author : Fredrik Ödman; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Applied Geology; Tillämpad geologi;

    Abstract : A field filtration method for the concentration and separation of suspended particulate matter (SPM) from freshwater systems and the subsequent determination of major, minor, trace and ultra trace elements (Al, As, Ba, Be, Ca, Cd, Co, Cr, Cs, Cu, Fe, Ga, Hf, K, Mg, Mn, Mo, Na, Nb, Ni, P, Pb, Rb, S, Sb, Sc, Si, Sn, Sr, Ta, Th, Ti, Tl, U, V, W, Zn and Zr) is validated with respect to detection limits, precision, and bias. The validation comprises the whole procedure including filtration, sample digestion and instrumental analysis. READ MORE
