1. Non-protein-coding RNA : Transcription and regulation of ribosomal RNA
Abstract : Cell growth and proliferation are processes in the cell that must be tightly regulated. Transcription of ribosomal RNA and ribosomal biogenesis are directly linked to cell growth and proliferation, since the ribosomal RNA encodes for the majority of transcription in a cell and ribosomal biogenesis influences directly the number of proteins that are synthesized. 2. Tracing History : Phylogenetic, Taxonomic, and Biogeographic Research in the Colchicum Family
Abstract : This thesis concerns the history and the intrafamilial delimitations of the plant family Colchicaceae. A phylogeny of 73 taxa representing all genera of Colchicaceae, except the monotypic Kuntheria, is presented. READ MORE

3. Biodegradation of hydrocarbons in soil and water
Abstract : Biodegradation of aliphatic and polycyclic aromatichydrocarbons was studied in soil and liquid cultures attemperatures ranging from -5 º C to 20 º C undervarious aerobic or anaerobic, nitrate reducing, conditions. Twocontaminated soils were used in the studies. READ MORE

4. Treponema spp. in porcine skin ulcers : clinical aspects
Abstract : The hypothesis tested in this work is that bacteria of genus Treponema play a main role when shoulder ulcers and ear necrosis occur in an infectious or severe form, and perhaps also in other skin conditions in the pig. Samples were collected from pigs in 19 Swedish herds 2010-2011. READ MORE

5. Guardians of the genome : Connecting chromatin structure and genome integrity in Saccharomyces cerevisiae
Abstract : Branched DNA structures arise during recombination and during other DNA repair processes such as repair of stalled replication forks. One branched structure, the Holliday Junction (HJ), is a four-way junction that can connect sister chromatids or homologous chromosomes. We show a physical interaction between the HJ-cleaving enzyme Yen1 and Uls1. READ MORE
