  1. 1. Iridium Catalysed Asymmetric Hydrogenation of Pyridines

    Author : Alban Cadu; Pher G. Andersson; Hans Adolfsson; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; hydrogenation; pyridine; catalytic; Iridium; Organisk kemi; Organic Chemistry;

    Abstract : This thesis presents the hydrogenation of substituted pyridines using N,P-ligated iridium catalystsin homogeneous media. These iridium catalysts were developed within this research group in thepast decade. This method of hydrogenation is highly stereoselective, and in several cases good to excellent ees were obtained. 2. 2. Enantio- and Regioselective Iridium-Catalyzed Hydrogenation of Olefins : From Development to Total Synthesis

    Author : Cristiana Margarita; Pher Andersson; Xavier Verdaguer; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Asymmetric hydrogenation; Iridium; Regioselectivity; Kinetic resolution; Total synthesis; organisk kemi; Organic Chemistry;

    Abstract : The work presented in this thesis concerns the iridium-catalyzed asymmetric hydrogenation of cyclic olefins and allylic alcohols for the preparation of useful chiral intermediates with various substitution patterns. The strategy provides stereocontrol for both non-functionalized as well as functionalized substrates and aims to be implemented in the stereoselective preparation of chiral building blocks having more than one stereocenter. 3. 3. Asymmetric Hydrogenations using N, P - Ligated Iridium Complexes

    Author : Alexander Paptchikhine; Pher G. Andersson; Karl Anker Jørgensen; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; asymmetric hydrogenation; iridium; birch; boronates; fluorine;

    Abstract : The research described in this thesis focuses on the catalytic asymmetric hydrogenation of prochiral olefins using N, P – chelated iridium catalysts. This catalytic system is tolerant to a wide range of substrates and performs better than the well-known ruthenium- and rhodium-catalytic systems for substrates devoid of coordinating groups in proximity of the olefin. 4. 4. Nickel and iridium pincer complexes with saturated frameworks - synthesis and reactivity

    Author : Klara Jonasson; Centrum för analys och syntes; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; PCP complexes; aliphatic pincer ligands; coordination; cyclometallation; iridium; nickel; organometallic synthesis; CO2 activation; catalysis;

    Abstract : As the tridentate chelate complexes referred to as pincer complexes have expanded their scope as homogeneous catalysts, there is an increased interest in electronic and steric fine-tuning of such complexes. One accessible variable in this aspect is the hybridisation of any coordinated carbon atoms. READ MORE

  5. 5. Asymmetric Hydrogenation of Functionalized Olefins Using N,P-Ligated Iridium Complexes

    Author : Taigang Zhou; Pher Andersson; Hans Adolfsson; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; asymmetric hydrogenation; iridium; Ramberg-Bäcklund reaction; sulfone; heterocycle; preclamol; remikiren;

    Abstract : Transition-metal-catalyzed asymmetric hydrogenation is one of the most efficient, straightforward, and well-established methods for preparing enantiomerically enriched compounds. Over the past decades, significant progress has been made with iridium, rhodium and ruthenium complexes to asymmetric hydrogenate a selection of olefins, such as, α,β-unsaturated carboxylic acid derivatives, ketones, imines and phosphonates.
