1. Liquid Sensing : Development and Characterisation of an Electronic Tongue Based on Electrochemical Methods
Abstract : A new sensor technology for liquid sensing is reported, i.e. the electronic tongue based on electrochemical methods. Such a system involves the combination of non-selective sensors (metal electrodes) and a signal processing part. READ MORE

2. Mass transfer across liquid-liquid interfaces : aspects on single-drop experiments performed with a computerized apparatus
Abstract : .... READ MORE

3. Transport Coefficients during Drying of Solids containing Multicomponent Mixtures
Abstract : This study investigated the transport coefficients involved in mass and heat transfer during the drying of a porous solid partially saturated with multicomponent mixtures. It included the coefficients governing liquid transport through the solid, the matrix of multicomponent diffusion coefficients in the liquid phase, and the effective thermal conductivity. READ MORE

4. Engineering Nanofluids for Heat Transfer Applications
Abstract : Nanofluids (NFs) are nanotechnology-based colloidal dispersion prepared by dispersing nanoparticles (NPs) in conventional liquids, as the base liquid. These advanced fluids have displayed potential to enhance the performance of conventional heat transfer fluids. READ MORE

5. An Experimental and Theoretical Study of Decentralized Gas Fired Liquid Heating
Abstract : The effects on the energy situation in industry when gas fired liquid heaters replace steam have been determined by energy surveys performed in a brewery and a slaughterhouse, measurements of the performance and emissions from liquid heaters installed in these industries, and theoretical analyses of the potential energy saving. The theoretical study in the first part of the project provides information that allows assessment of the effects on the energy situation, of part or complete conversion to decentralized heating, under the conditions prevailing in the industries concerned.
