1. Lower hybrid current drive in the Tore Supra tokamak
Abstract : To control and extract energy from nuclear fusion reactions, a mixture of deuterium and tritium gases must be heated to temperatures on the order of 100 million degrees, whilst maintaining a sufficiently high density. The main difficulty is to confine the ionised gases, i.e. plasma, until the rate of fusion reactions becomes large enough. READ MORE

2. Modeling and Control of a PMSynRel Drive for a Plug-InHybrid Electric Vehicle
Abstract : This thesis presents two transient models for a prototype integrated charger for use in a plug-in hybrid-electrical vehicle application. The models can be useful in order to develop control algorithms for the system or to recommend improvements to the machine design. READ MORE

3. Coupling and Absorption of Lower Hybrid Waves in Current Profile Control Experiments in the JET Tokamak
Abstract : Current drive with radio frequency waves in the lower hybrid frequency range is an important method of current profile control via non-inductive current drive in tokamaks. This thesis is concerned with profile control experiments, carried out with the lower hybrid current drive system in the Joint European Torus (JET) tokamak, with the aim to explore scenarios for operation in high confinement regimes with peaked pressure profiles. 4. Integrated Compact Drives for Electric and Hybrid Electric Vehicles
Abstract : To develop more competitive solutions, one of the trends in the development of drive systems for electric and hybrid electric vehicles (EVs/HEVs) is to integrate the power electronic converter and the electric motor. This thesis aims to investigate the performance and the operation of modular converters in integrated motor drive systems for EVs/HEVs. READ MORE

5. Investigation of a Multilevel Inverter for Electric Vehicle Applications
Abstract : Electrified vehicles on the market today all use the classical two-level inverter as the propulsion inverter. This thesis analyse the potential of using a cascaded H-bridge multilevel inverter as the propulsion inverter. READ MORE
