  1. 1. Taken for Granted – The Construction of Order in the Process of Library Management System Decision Making

    Author : Nasrine Olson; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Keywords : SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Library Management Systems; System Selection Process within Libraries; Library System Procurement process; Consequences of Decision Making; Methodological Symmetry; Duality of Structure in Decision Making Process; Construction of Conceptual Order; Construction of Social Order; library management systems;

    Abstract : This thesis is an empirically based, theoretical discussion of the process of decision making in relation to Library Management Systems (LMS). Although the conceptualization of the LMS decision process in rational terms, common in many LMS selection models, may be useful in different respects, here the process is viewed from a social constructivist stance. 2. 2. Structural studies of polychlorinated hydrocarbons : DDT analogues and degradation products

    Author : Sven Hovmöller; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Abstract : The crystal structures of five analogues and degradation products of DOT have been determined by single crystal X-ray diffraction techniques. The conformations of these compounds are discussed and compared with the other DDT-type compounds whose crystal structures have been solved. READ MORE

  3. 3. Analysis of Human Brain MRI : Contributions to Regional Volume Studies

    Author : Richard Nordenskjöld; Joel Kullberg; Elna-Marie Larsson; Lars Johansson; Håkan Ahlström; Göran Starck; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; MRI; Brain; Volume; Hemisphere; Intracranial volume; Image analysis; Computerized Image Analysis; Datoriserad bildanalys;

    Abstract : Many disorders are associated with regional brain volumes. The analysis of these volumes from MR images often requires sequential processing steps such as localization and delineation. READ MORE

  4. 4. A computational approach to curvature sensing in lipid bilayers

    Author : Federico Elías-Wolff; Alexander Lyubartsev; Max Berkowitz; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; curvature sensing; membrane curvature; cardiolipin; amphipathic helix; symmetric multimers; lipid bilayer; molecular dynamics; Biophysics; biofysik;

    Abstract : Local curvature is a key driving force for spatial organization of cellular membranes, via a phenomenon known as membrane curvature sensing, where the binding energy of membrane associated macromolecules depends on the local membrane shape. However, the microscopic mechanisms of curvature sensing are not well understood. READ MORE

  5. 5. Stories across borders : how female ex-offenders make sense of their journey through crime and criminal justice in Sweden and England

    Author : Linnéa Österman; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Keywords : SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Women - crime - qualitative cross-national methods - Sweden - England;

    Abstract : This thesis contributes to the internationalisation of criminological knowledge about gender and crime through a cross-national analysis of female ex-offenders' qualitative experiences of crime and criminal justice in two European countries; Sweden and England. Grounded in a feminist methodological framework, the study draws on 24 life-story narrative interviews with 12 repeat female offenders in Sweden and 12 in England, who, at the time of the interview, self-identified as desisters.
