  1. 1. Synthesis and Characterization of Sec-Packings Based on Trimethylolpropane Trimethacrylate

    Author : Andrea Schmid; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; bulk polymerization; N; hydrophilic gels; separation; methyl methacrylate; hydrophobic networks; acrylamide; porous networks; Suspension; N -methylene-bis-acrylamide; chemically crosslinked networks; dry gels; polysaccharide standards; distilled water; copolymerization; trimethylolpropane trimethacrylate;

    Abstract : Suspension and bulk polymerization of trimethylolpropane trimethacrylate (TRIM) and copolymerization of TRIM with methyl methacrylate (MMA) resulted in porous, hydrophobic, and chemically crosslinked networks. Copolymerization of TRIM with acrylamide (AA) and with N,N'-methylene-bis-acrylamide (bis-AA) resulted in hydrophilic gels. READ MORE

  3. 3. Thermal Isomerization of Azobenzene Side Chain Copolymers

    Author : Viktoria Skeppstedt; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; free volume; thermal isomerization; positron annihilation lifetime spectroscopy; physical ageing; phthalate; methyl methacrylate polymer; azo polymers; plasticization;

    Abstract : Irradiation of azobenzene induces isomerization between its trans- and cis forms. By introduction of azobenzene chromophores in polymers, it is possible to optically control a variety of polymer properties. The isomerization of azobenzene can be used to influence conformational, optical or surface properties of the poly mer material. READ MORE

  4. 4. Wood Nanocellulose Materials and Effects from Surface Modification of Nanoparticles

    Author : Michaela Salajkova; Lars Berglund; Kritiina Oksman; KTH; []
    Keywords : Nanocellulose; nanoc omposite; dispersion; surface modification; surfa ctant; poly methyl methacrylate ; poly vinyl acetate ; carbon nanotubes; electrospinning; lubricant - infused surfaces;

    Abstract : Nanocellulose is an interesting natural material thatis gaining interest in the field of materials science, particularly nanocomposites. Depending on the disintegration route, nanocellulose can be isolated either in the form of long and flexible fibres (nanofibrillated cellulose, NFC), or stiff, rod-like crystals (cellulose nanocrystals, CNC). 5. 5. Lithium Ion Conductive Membranes Based on Co-continuous Polymer Blends

    Author : Anette Munch Elmér; Centrum för analys och syntes; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Polymerteknik; Polymer technology; biopolymers; conductivity measurements; in-situ UV-polymerisation; solution casting; poly methyl methacrylate ; vinylidene fluoride copolymers; poly ethylene carbonate-co-ethylene oxide methacrylate; PEG methacrylate macromonomers; heterogeneous polymer blends; polymer electrolyte membranes; lithium salt containing gels;

    Abstract : There is a growing need for multifunctional polymeric materials for the development of several important energy conversion technologies. For example, the polymer electrolyte is a key component in lithium polymer batteries. The basic functions of this electrolyte are to efficiently conduct the lithium ions and physically separate the electrodes. READ MORE
