1. New insights in parathyroid hormone secretion : with focus on exocytosis and calcium signaling
Abstract : The parathyroid is distinguished from other endocrine systems since its primary stimuli inhibit hormone secretion. It is generally considered that extracellular Ca2+ binds to a membrane receptor (calcium sensing receptor, or CaSR), and via second messengers modulate parathyroid hormone (PTH) secretion. READ MORE

2. Pit lakes from sulphide ore mining, geochemical and limnological characterization before treatment, after liming and sewage sludge treatments : cases studies at Rävlidmyran and Udden, Sweden
Abstract : Due to the increasing number of acidic mining-pit lakes and a growing awareness of the environmental risks associated with them, pit lakes have attracted more and more attention. This study started with a full-year- round investigation of two abandoned sulphide mine pit lakes, the Rävlidmyran and Udden pit lakes in northern Sweden, followed by studies of two full-scale remediation treatments, liming and sewage sludge treatment, respectively, in the Rävlidmyran pit lake. 3. Aqueous geochemistry of pit lakes : two cases studies at Rävlidmyran and Udden, Sweden
Abstract : Two abandoned pit lakes in northern Sweden were studied in order to improve the understanding of the geochemistry of pit lakes, Rävlidmyran Pit Lake and Udden Pit Lake. Both lakes show strong similarity with other mining lakes in terms of low pH and high metal and sulphate contents. READ MORE

4. A High-end Reconfigurable Computation Platform for Particle Physics Experiments
Abstract : Modern nuclear and particle physics experiments run at a very high reaction rate and are able to deliver a data rate of up to hundred GBytes/s. This data rate is far beyond the storage and on-line analysis capability. Fortunately physicists have only interest in a very small proportion among the huge amounts of data. READ MORE

5. Adaptive Computing based on FPGA Run-time Reconfigurability
Abstract : In the past two decades, FPGA has been witnessed from its restricted use as glue logic towards real System-on-Chip (SoC) platforms. Profiting from the great development on semiconductor and IC technologies, the programmability of FPGAs enables themselves wide adoption in all kinds of aspects of embedded designs. READ MORE
