  1. 1. Quality Aspects of Modified Atmosphere Packaged Broccoli

    Author : Annelie Jacobsson; Livsmedelsteknik; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Livsmedelsteknik; Food and drink technology; heat transfer; mass transport; quality; flavour; aroma; modified atmosphere packaging; broccoli;

    Abstract : The modified atmosphere packaging (MAP) of vegetables is used with the aim of prolonging the shelf-life of the packaged produce. The packaging material consists of a permeable film and as a result of the respiration of the produce and gas diffusion through the film, the O2 decreases and the CO2 increases inside the package. 2. 2. Water Condensation and Freezing in the Atmosphere: Exploring Deliquescence and Ice Nucleation

    Author : Dimitri Castarède; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Hygroscopicity; Deliquescence; Atmosphere; Particles; Ice Nucleation; Ice Nucleation Chamber;

    Abstract : Atmospheric aerosols play key roles in numerous atmospheric processes. They affect human health, are substrates and components for atmospheric chemistry, and via their contribution to clouds affect the water cycle and the energy balance of the planet. READ MORE

  3. 3. Troubled Atmosphere – On Noticing Air

    Author : Hanna Husberg; Renate Lorenz; Anette Baldauf; Cecilia Åsberg; Akademie der bildenden Künste Wien; []
    Keywords : Noticing air; Aerial imaginaries; Materiality; relationality and performativity of air; Fine Art; Fri Konst;

    Abstract : Through the lense of four different art projects, Troubled Atmosphere – On Noticing Air looks at hybrid, layered, inconsistent, muddled, unruly, contaminated gatherings of air, inquiring how air has been conceptualised and perceived, and how the construction of aerial imaginaries enables specific ways of engaging with the world and excludes others. Paying attention to the materiality, relationality and performativity of air, noticing air is explored as a methodology to consider how air, approached as a naturalcultural and technoecological phenomenon, is made perceptible and knowable under historically specific circumstances, perceptual systems, and politics of representation. 4. 4. Vacuum Impregnation of Spinach Tissue: Metabolic Consequences and their Potential Industrial Applications

    Author : Noor Liyana Yusof; Avdelningen för livsmedel och läkemedel; []
    Keywords : Vacuum impregnation; Metabolic consequences; Spinach : metabolism; Modified atmosphere; Minimal processing; Nitrate reduction; Vegetables; Plant tissue;

    Abstract : Vacuum impregnation (VI) is a unit operation that allows the introduction of solutions into the porous structure of plant tissues. The plant tissue is immersed in the solution of interest and is then subjected to partial vacuum, causing the removal of air from the tissue. READ MORE

  5. 5. Carrot Juice Processing - Effects on Various Quality Aspects

    Author : Charlotte Alklint; Livsmedelsteknik; []
