  1. 1. Flow Pulsations in Fluid Power Machines - a Measurement and Simulation Study

    Author : Liselott Ericson; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : noise; pump; motor; measurement; optimisation; TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIKVETENSKAP;

    Abstract : Stricter requirements for better working environment involve noise and vibration control of hydraulic machines. The operational conditions for hydraulic machines, such as pressure and rotational speed, are also increasing and this makes it even more difficult to develop a quiet, vibration-free machine due to the interdependence between noise and escalating operational conditions. 2. 2. Integrated Motor Drives and Battery Chargers for Electric or Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicles

    Author : Saeid Haghbin; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; maximum torque per Ampere strategy.; integrated motor drive and battery chargers; field-oriented control; battery charger; isolated and non-isolated integrated charges; Plug-in vehicles; split-phase PM motor;

    Abstract : Plug-in vehicles, electric vehicles or plug-in hybrid electric vehicles, use grid power to charge the battery. The components in the traction circuit, like the electric motor and the inverter, are not used during the battery charging, so there is a possibility to use them in the charger circuit to reduce the size, weight and price of the on-board charger; that is called an integrated motor drive and battery charger or simply an integrated charger which can be galvanically isolated or non-isolated from the utility grid. 3. 3. Ford Motor Company's acquisition of Volvo Cars : the R&D integration process problems and problem areas

    Author : Magnus Lundbäck; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : It is of great importance for automobile companies to achieve benefits of scale in the development of new products because of the high costs involved. During the 1990s the probability of achieving benefits of scale, in order to make the needed savings, has changed dramatically. READ MORE

  4. 4. The political economy of emission standards : politics, business and the making of vehicle emission regulations in Sweden and Europe, 1960-1980s

    Author : Mattias Näsman; Ann-Kristin Bergquist; Kristina Söderholm; Per Högselius; Umeå universitet; []
    Keywords : SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; history; car industry; environmental governance; environmental regulation; air pollution; transition; vehicle emissions; transnational; European integration; standards; knowledge creation; linking; delinking; expertise; business power; lobbying; California Effect Hypothesis; ekonomisk historia; Economic History; History; historia; sustainability; hållbarhet;

    Abstract : The purpose of this thesis is to contribute to an improved historical understanding of the challenges and complexities involved in constructing systems of governance of motor vehicle air pollution. The specific aim of the study is to explore the development of regulatory vehicle emission standards in Sweden between 1960 and the 1980s as well as to analyze this development within its broader European economic, regulatory and environmental policy context by adopting a transnational approach. 5. 5. Waste in road transport operations - using information sharing to increase efficiency

    Author : Henrik Sternberg; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; road transport operations; transport efficiency; ICT; information sharing; transport information systems; freight transportation; motor carrier;

    Abstract : In terms of efficiency, road transport operations have historically seen very little development relative to other supply chain areas and some authors have even referred to freight transportation as the “forgotten factor.” Several studies world-wide have shown a generally low level of efficiency in road transport operations.
