  1. 1. Reduced Receivers for Faster-than-Nyquist Signaling and General Linear Channels

    Author : Adnan Prlja; Institutionen för elektro- och informationsteknik; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Digital data transmission; receivers; decoders; channel modeling; intersymbol interference; ISI; MIMO; Faster-than-Nyquist signaling; complexity reduction; observation models; BCJR algorithm; turbo equalization; iterative detection; channel shortening;

    Abstract : Fast and reliable data transmission together with high bandwidth efficiency are important design aspects in a modern digital communication system. Many different approaches exist but in this thesis bandwidth efficiency is obtained by increasing the data transmission rate with the faster-than-Nyquist (FTN) framework while keeping a fixed power spectral density (PSD). 2. 2. Urethritis and cervicitis with special reference to Chlamydia trachomatis and Mycoplasma genitalium : diagnostic and epidemiological aspects

    Author : Lars Falk; Torvald Ripa; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICINE; MEDICIN;

    Abstract : The aim of this thesis was to elucidate urethritis and cervicitis and the possible causes with special reference to Chlamydia trachomatis and Mycoplasma genitalium. Despite mandatory partner notification legislated in 1988, the incidence of C trachomatis infection in Sweden has undergone a 10% annual increase since 1997, following a decline in the early 1990s. 3. 3. Supervised and Unsupervised Deep Learning Models for Flood Detection

    Author : Ritu Yadav; Yifang Ban; Andrea Nascetti; Nicolas Audebert; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Floods; Remote Sensing; Sentinel-1 SAR; Segmentation; Change Detection; DEM; Data Fusion; Time Series; Deep Learning; Unsupervised Learning; Contrastive Learning; Self-Attention; Convolutional LSTM; Variational AutoEncoder VAE ; Geoinformatik; Geoinformatics;

    Abstract : Human civilization has an increasingly powerful influence on the earthsystem. Affected by climate change and land-use change, floods are occurringacross the globe and are expected to increase in the coming years. Currentsituations urge more focus on efficient monitoring of floods and detecting impactedareas. READ MORE

  4. 4. Plant Phosphoinositide Kinases. A Study of PtdIns 4-kinases and a PtdIns 4-phosphate 5-kinase

    Author : Tomas Westergren; immunologi och glykobiologi - MIG Avdelningen för mikrobiologi; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; regulation; plant phosphorylation; plasma membrane; lipid kinase; divalent ion; phosphoinositide; substrate specificity; Plant biochemistry; Växtbiokemi;

    Abstract : Phosphoinositides are of particular interest in signal transduction processes as they can be sequentially phosphorylated and used as precursors for the intracellular messengers inositol trisphosphate (InsP3) and diacylglycerol (DAG) that in turn affects calcium levels and protein kinase cascades, eventually leading to a physiological response. The activity and regulation of PtdIns 4-kinases and PtdInsP kinase was studied. READ MORE

  5. 5. Hypertension in a defined population. The Skaraborg Hypertension and Diabetes Project

    Author : Erik Bøg-Hansen; Malmö Institutionen för kliniska vetenskaper; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Socialmedicin; samhällsmedicin; Kardiovaskulära systemet; Social medicine; Cardiovascular system; sekretion; diabetologi; diabetology; Endokrinologi; secreting systems; Endocrinology; primary care.; treatment; survival; cardiovascular disease risk factors; insulin resistance; Hypertension; type 2 diabetes;

    Abstract : To examine cardiovascular disease risk factors, control of hypertension and survival in patients with hypertension treated in primary care, patients with hypertension and/or type 2 diabetes were surveyed for cardiovascular disease risk factors and treatment 1992-1993. For reference, a random population sample from the same community was surveyed 1993-1994. READ MORE
