  1. 1. Retinal Vein Occlusion A clinical study of electrophysiology, certain prognostic factors and treatment

    Author : Charlotte Lindberg; Lund Oftalmologi; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Ophtalmology; Oftalmologi; multifocal electroretinography vitrectomy; electroretinography; factor V Leiden; retinal vein occlusion; prognostic factors;

    Abstract : The influence of the factor V Leiden mutation on the development of neovascular complications in central retinal vein occlusion was studied. The presence of the mutation was found to enhance the risk of developing neovascular complications almost threefold compared to in patients without the mutation. READ MORE

  2. 2. Retinopathy in subjects with pre-diabetes and electrophysiological studies in diabetes patients with and without retinopathy

    Author : Maria Tyrberg; Lund Oftalmologi; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; diabetic retinopathy; full-field electroretinography; multifocal electroretinography; impaired fasting glucose;

    Abstract : Diabetes is increasing worldwide and hence the risk developing complications where retinopathy is the theme of this study. The aim of the study was to evaluate the presence of (vascular) retinopathy in subjects with the pre-diabetes stage, impaired fasting glucose (IFG), and the development of retinopathy in these subjects during five years. 3. 3. Experimental vitreoretinal surgery in the rabbit eye - electrophysiology and morphology

    Author : Karin Gjörloff; Lund Oftalmologi; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Oftalmologi; Ophtalmology; retinectomy; GFAP; PKC; rabbit; vitrectomy; focal laser photocoagulation; full-field electroretinography; multifocal electroretinography;

    Abstract : The field of vitreoretinal surgery has expanded greatly over the last decades. A continuous refinement of surgical methods and instruments has increased the number of treatable retinal disorders. Vitrectomy, retinectomy and laser treatment are all part of the modern surgical arsenal. READ MORE

  4. 4. Experimental porcine models of retinal ischemia

    Author : Håkan Morén; Lund Oftalmologi; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; retinal ischemia; animal model; multifocal electroretinography; intraarterial coiling; retinal vasculature;

    Abstract : Retinal ischaemia resulting from e.g. diabetes, vein thrombosis or arterial occlusion, is one of the major causes of visual impairment and blindness. Although new methods of treatment are being developed, there is still a need for more effective pharmacological forms of treatment. READ MORE

  5. 5. Structure and Function of the Retina in Children Born Extremely Preterm and in Children Born At Term

    Author : Anna Molnar; Gerd E. Holmström; Eva K. B. Larsson; Sten O. Andréasson; Christopher J. Lyons; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; optical coherence tomography; multifocal electroretinogram; full-field electroretinography; extremely preterm children; retinopathy of prematurity; gestational age; gender; Ophtalmology; Oftalmiatrik;

    Abstract : Background: Optical coherence tomography (OCT), multifocal electroretinography (mfERG) and full-field electroretinography (ffERG) give important information about retinal structure and function.Purpose: To collect normative data of macular Cirrus Spectral domain (SD)-OCT assessments and of mfERG measurements of healthy children (papers I and II).
