  1. 1. Silicon Nanopore Arrays : Fabrication and Applications for DNA Sensing

    Author : Miao Zhang; Jan Linnros; Meni Wanunu; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; nanopore; array; electrochemical etching; DNA; optics; thermophoresis;

    Abstract : Nanopore biomolecule sensing and sequencing has emerged as a simple but powerful tool for single molecule studies over the past two decades. By elec- trophoretically driving single molecules through a nanometer-sized pore, often sitting in an insulating membrane that separates two buffer solutions, ionic current blockades can be detected to reveal rich information of the molecules, such as DNA length, protein size and conformation, even nucleic acid se- quence. 2. 2. Polymer brush functionalised nanopore sensors

    Author : Julia Järlebark; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; polymer brushes; nanopore sensing; nanofabrication;

    Abstract : Single-molecule studies on proteins could reveal a lot of information about their conformational dynamics, and processes such as misfolding and aggregation. This knowledge is valuable in providing a deeper understanding of molecular biology, and for understanding the link between proteins and various diseases. READ MORE

  3. 3. Solid-state nanopores : fabrication and applications

    Author : Shuangshuang Zeng; Zhen Zhang; Amit Meller; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : solid-state nanopore; truncated-pyramidal nanopore; nanopore array; pore size reduction; individual addressability; microfluidics; translocation.; Teknisk fysik med inriktning mot elektronik; Engineering Science with specialization in Electronics;

    Abstract : Nanopores are of great interest in study of DNA sequencing, protein profiling and power generation. Among them, solid-state nanopores show obvious advantages over their biological counterparts in terms of high chemical stability and reusability as well as compatibility with the existing CMOS fabrication techniques. 4. 4. Genomic adaptation and gene-dosage regulation of Drosophila melanogaster cells, and long-read software developments

    Author : Jacob Lewerentz; Per Stenberg; Jan Larsson; Bergman Casey; Umeå universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Drosophila; cell line; long read; Nanopore; Pacbio; Illumina; cancer; genome evolution; dosage compensation; structural variant; software; bioinformatics;

    Abstract : Cells are the vehicles that allows genetic code to proliferate in the world, taking on various forms – as illustrated by the tree of life. The cell features are determined by the manufacturing of proteins, a process that has its blueprints encoded as genes in the genome. READ MORE
