  1. 6. Strain Mapping of Single Nanowires using Nano X-ray Diffraction

    Author : Susanna Hammarberg; NanoLund: Centre for Nanoscience; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Nanotrådar; X-ray Diffraction; Strain mapping; XRF; III-V nanowire; perovskite nanowires; Diffraction; Nanowires; Strain mapping; XRD; XRF; MAX IV;

    Abstract : Nanowires are explored as basic components for a large range of electronic devices. The nanowire format offersseveral benefits, including reduced material consumption and increased potential for combining materials to formnew novel heterostructures. READ MORE

  2. 7. Electron Transport in Semiconductor Nanowires

    Author : Mikael Björk; Fasta tillståndets fysik; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; heterostructures; single electron transistors; resonant tunneling; quantum dots; weak antilocalization; Halvledarfysik; field effect transistors; Semiconductory physics; Fysicumarkivet A:2004:Björk; Low-dimensional structures; nanowires; chemical beam epitaxy;

    Abstract : In this thesis, semiconductor nanowires are studied from the point of view of growth and electrical properties. The growth of nanowires is done by chemical beam epitaxy (CBE), an ultra-high vacuum technique allowing a precise control of precursor deposition and low growth rates. READ MORE

    Abstract : Semiconductor nanowires are studied by using transmission electron microscopy (TEM) based methods in this work. In the first section, the growth mechanism of gallium arsenide nanowires grown by chemical beam epitaxy is investigated. The nanowires are epitaxially grown from a gallium arsenide substrate by using gold seed particles as catalysts. READ MORE

  4. 9. Semiconductor Nanowires: Characterization and surface modification

    Author : Sofie Yngman; NanoLund: Centre for Nanoscience; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; semiconducting nanowire; atomic force microscopy; Scanning tunneling microscopy; X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy; Scanning Probe Microscopy; Nanowires; Sveptunnelmikroskopi; Atomkraftsmikroskopi; XPS; Halvledarfysik; nanotrådar;

    Abstract : The topic of III-V nanowires is still, after more than two decades, a growing and lively research area. The areas of application are wide and contain such important topics as energy harvesting, cheap and efficient lighting, high efficiency detectors and new types of electronics. III-V materials offer properties superior to the widely used Si. READ MORE

  5. 10. Novel Processing and Electrical Characterization of Nanowires

    Author : Kristian Storm; Fasta tillståndets fysik; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Gate; Capacitance; Hall effect; InP; InAs; Characterization; Nanowires; Processing; LED; Transistor; Fysicumarkivet A:2013:Storm;

    Abstract : This thesis investigates novel electrical nanowire characterization tools and devices. Conventional characterization methods, long available to bulk semiconductor samples, have been adapted and transferred to the nanowire geometry. READ MORE
