  1. 1. Digital Product Innovation : Building Generative Capability through Architectural Frames

    Author : Fredrik Svahn; Ola Henfridsson; Jonny Holmström; Sandeep Purao; Umeå universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; digital innovation; product innovation; generativity; modularity; patterns; architecture; architectural frames;

    Abstract : Over the last decades we have witnessed a profound digitalization of tangible products. While this shift offers great opportunities, it also exposes product developing industries to significant challenges. READ MORE

  2. 2. Stereoselective Synthesis of Amino Alcohols : Applications to Natural Product Synthesis

    Author : Staffan Torssell; Peter Somfai; Pher G Andersson; KTH; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Amino alcohol; asymmetric 1.3-dipolar cycloaddition; azomethine ylide; carbenoid; carbonyl ylide; cross-metathesis; omuralide; oxazolidine; rhodium; sphingosine; stemoamide; stereoselective synthesis; total synthesis.; Organic chemistry; Organisk kemi;

    Abstract : This thesis is divided into four separate parts with amino alcohols as the common feature. The first part of the thesis describes the development of an efficient three-component approach to the synthesis of α-hydroxy-β-amino esters. READ MORE

  3. 3. Discovery of Novel Macrocyclic Ligands for Difficult Targets : Applications to Natural Product Derived Keap1 Inhibitors

    Author : Fabio Begnini; Jan Kihlberg; Anders Bach; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Macrocycles; Keap1-Nrf2; Protein-protein interactions; Natural products;

    Abstract : The development of small-molecule ligands for biological targets that possess large, featureless or highly polar binding sites is a challenging task. This thesis is focused on a novel lead generation strategy to identify macrocyclic ligands for difficult-to-drug targets, as well as on the relationship between cell permeability and the conformations of macrocycles. 4. 4. Resource efficient products in a circular economy – The case of consumables. From environmental and resource assessment to design guidelines

    Author : Siri Willskytt; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; product characteristics; circular product design; resource efficiency; LCA; consumable products; ecodesign; design guidelines; circular economy;

    Abstract : The circular economy (CE) is a concept to challenge the unsustainable production, consumption, and waste management of products, through the recirculation of resources and products through various means while reducing environmental impact. Within this concept, many measures are recommended for reducing environmental impact and resource use. READ MORE

  5. 5. Synthesis Towards Biologically Active Natural Products

    Author : Rikard Larsson; Centrum för analys och syntes; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Transtaganolide; basiliolide; natural product; total synthesis; biomimetic; Thapsia; Diels-Alder; Ireland-Claisen; Pictet-Spengler; tetrahydroisoquinoline; indole;

    Abstract : In 2005 two research groups independently reported the isolation of a series of structurally intriguing C-19 terpenolides from the plants Thapsia transtagana and Thapsia garganica. The compounds were shown to be potent inhibitors of the sarco/endoplasmic reticulum Ca2+-ATPases. READ MORE
