  1. 1. Vehicle emissions abatement: NO oxidation and ammonia SCR

    Author : Xavier Auvray; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; SpaciMS; NO oxidation; Cu-Beta zeolite; sulfur dioxide; Platinum; ammonia SCR; aging;

    Abstract : The design and the development of catalytic systems for reducing vehicle emissions is a complex task due to the variety of components in a wide range of gas flow and temperature. A complete system is, therefore, composed of a series of catalysts or catalytic systems, each of which is dealing with a particular aspect of the abatement process. READ MORE

  2. 2. Structural Properties of Palladium-Manganese Alloys

    Author : Alexander J Jaworowski; Lunds universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; transition metal; structure; growth; adsorption; core level photoemission. scanning tunneling microscopy; fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy; Manganese; Palladium; Rhodium; Molybdenum; NO; CO; alloy; O; Physics; Fysik; Semiconductory physics; Halvledarfysik; Fysicumarkivet A:2001:Jaworowski;

    Abstract : Structural properties of adsorbed overlayers on well-defined single crystals and of Palladium-Manganese surface alloys formed on Pd(100) have been investigated using synchrotron-based photoemission, scanning tunneling microscopy and Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy. The experimental valence electronic structure of PdMn systems on Pd(100) is compared to density functional calculations (DFT). READ MORE

  3. 3. Systemic sclerosis : vascular, pulmonary and immunological aspects

    Author : Grethe Neumann Andersen; Solbritt Rantapää Dahlqvist; Lucia Mincheva-Nilsson; Sören Jacobsen; Umeå universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Systemic sclerosis; interstitial lung disease; MMP-9; Th1 Th2; transcription factors; NO; iNOS; E-selectin; endothelium-dependent dilation; endothelium-independent dilation.; Rheumatology; Reumatologi;

    Abstract : In systemic sclerosis (SSc), interstitial lung disease (ILD) and engagement of the vascular system lead to increased morbidity and mortality. The aim of this thesis was to elucidate, in a consecutively included cohort of SSc (limited and diffuse) patients (n = 33), the T cell cytokine profile driving the disease in ILD and to explore the role of matrix metalloproteinase 9 (MMP-9) and its inhibitor: tissue inhibitor of metalloproteinase 1 (TIMP-1) in the extracellular matrix (ECM) degrading process leading to fibrous scarring and honey combing. 4. 4. No Researcher Is an Island : Collaboration in Higher Education Institutions

    Author : Maria Ljunggren; Hans Westlund; Tuzin Baycan; KTH; []
    Keywords : SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Collaboration; External social capital; Higher Education Institutions; Innovation policy; Innovation system; Internal social capital; Research and teaching links;

    Abstract : The developing knowledge economy affects organizations within the innovation system where higher education institutions (HEI) are regarded as a significant part. There is a large amount of research that focus on different aspects of collaboration such as the outcome, the process and its infrastructure. READ MORE

  5. 5. Metal Cluster Reactivity. Adsorption of small molecules in biomolecular collisions

    Author : Mats Andersson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; O2; CO; ionization potential; Con; Fen; NO; sticking probability; laser ionization; D2; Wn; Cun; Rhn; reaction probability; cluster; jellium model; Nbn; metal cluster reactivity; N2; time-of-flight mass spectrometry; Nin;

    Abstract : Metal clusters can be characterized as the tiniest possible metal particles, containing only an easily counted number of atoms. In this work, reactions between metal clusters and diatomic molecules have been investigated. We have constructed an experimental set-up to produce and detect clusters, and to investigate their chemical reactivity. READ MORE
