  1. 1. Non-invasive biomedical analysis : recent advances, challenges, and future perspectives

    Author : Stefan Cirovic; Sergey Shleev; Petri Gudmundsson; Anders Kottorp; Annica Kristoffersson; Malmö universitet; []
    Keywords : Health and society; Hälsa och samhälle;

    Abstract : Non-invasive healthcare technologies are increasingly pivotal in research anddevelopment due to their affordability and the convenience they offer to bothhealthcare recipients and providers. Alongside traditional non-invasive methodssuch as ultrasound imaging, a variety of innovative non-invasive devices havebeen developed. READ MORE

    Abstract : Throughout the last century, medical imaging has come to revolutionise the way we diagnose disease, and is today an indispensable part of virtually any clinical practice. In cardiovascular care imaging is extensively utilised, and the development of novel techniques promises refined diagnostic abilities: ultrasound elastography allows for constitutive tissue assessment, 4D flow magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) enables full-field flow mapping, and micro-Computed Tomography (CT) permits high-resolution imaging at pre-clinical level. 3. 3. Computerised Microtomography : Non-invasive imaging and analysis of biological samples, with special reference to monitoring development of osteoporosis in small animals

    Author : Mats Stenström; Gudrun Alm Carlsson; Carl Carlsson; Jim Elliot; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : Computed microtomography; CμT; signal-to-noise ratio SNR ; non-invasive monitoring; morphological changes; Gastrectomized Sprague-Dawley; osteoporosis; MEDICINE; MEDICIN;

    Abstract : The use of Computerised microtomography (CμT) in biomedical research is well established, with most applications developed at synchrotron facilities. The possibility to non-invasively monitor morphological changes in biological samples, makes it an attractive technique in biomedicine. READ MORE

  4. 4. Microwave Transistor Noise Model Extraction Methods and a Non-Contacting Scattering Parameter Measurement Method

    Author : Jörgen Stenarson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; extraction; S-parameter; noise parameter; vector network analyzer; electro-magnetic probe; microwave; non-contacting testing; transistor noise model; VNA; EM-probe; non-invasive testing;

    Abstract : This thesis has two parts. The first part discuss noise model extraction methods for FETs. The second part describe theory and implementation of a non-contacting S-parameter measurement method. Noise is an important aspect for a circuit designer, because noise generated in the circuit is a sensitivity limiting factor. READ MORE

  5. 5. Unstable coronary artery disease : non-invasive indicators of severity of coronary lesions and the effects of thrombolysis

    Author : Jan-Erik Karlsson; Rolf Nordlander; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICINE; MEDICIN;

    Abstract : Non-invasive indicators of severity of coronary lesions and the effects of thrombolysis were evaluated in 205 men, 38 to 70 years of age with unstable coronary aticty disease (CAD)- i.e. unstable angina or non-Q wave myocardial infarction - admitted to the coronary care units in nine hospitals.
