  1. 1. The Role of Suppliers and Resellers : Cases of Timber Product Distribution Channels

    Author : Wei Guan; Jakob Rehme; Staffan Brege; Tomas Nord; Anders Roos; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Distribution channels; roles; role changes; downstream vertical integration; offerings; timber products;

    Abstract : This dissertation aims to explain the impacts of distribution channel developments on the roles of timber product distribution channel actors. The role of channel actors in this dissertation is defined as the structured behaviour pattern that combines activities and resources in distribution channels. READ MORE

  2. 2. Distribution and Chemical Diversity of Cyclotides from Violaceae : Impact of Structure on Cytotoxic Activity and Membrane Interactions

    Author : Robert Burman; Ulf Göransson; Lars Bohlin; William Gerwick; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Cyclotide; Violaceae; Viola; Cytotoxic; Mechanism; In vivo; Structure-activity; Membrane; Mass spectrometry; Pharmacognosy; Farmakognosi; Pharmacognosy; Farmakognosi;

    Abstract : During the last decade there has been increased interest in the cyclotide protein family, which consist of a circular chain of approximately 30 amino acids, including six cysteines that form three disulfide bonds, arranged in a cyclic cystine knot motif. This thesis gives new insights in cyclotide distribution and occurrence in the plant family Violaceae, structure-activity relationships for cytotoxic effects, membrane disruption and adsorption on lipid membranes, and evaluates toxicity and anti-tumor activity in vivo. 3. 3. Radiosynthesis of Perfluoroalkyl Substances : Chemical analysis, uptake, distribution, and partitioning studies

    Author : Maria Sundström; Åke Bergman; John Butenhoff; Stefan Nobel; Johan Eriksson; Christopher Lau; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; PFOS; PFOA; PFBS; miljökemi; Environmental Chemistry;

    Abstract : Perfluoroalkyl substances (PFASs) are widely utilized manmade chemicals. Their properties have made them highly appreciated in a variety of industrial and consumer product applications, including fire-fighting foams, hydraulic fluids, as well as in cookware and food contact papers. 4. 4. Applications of Microwave Heating of Foods

    Author : Birgitta Raaholt; RISE; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; modelling of microwave heating; microwave-assisted HTST processing; product quality.; heat transfer; microwave heating; microwave oven; heating uniformity; microwave cavity; tubular microwave in-flow processing;

    Abstract : AbstractMicrowave heating of foods offers rapid and flexible heating both for consumer and industrial applications, with several advantages, such as reduced processing time (due to volumetric heating and reduced coming-up times (heating time required to reach the desired target temperature), selective heating, increased process flexibility and efficient heating (volumetric heating of the food does not require heating of a surrounding medium or package). However, successful installations requireknowledge in process design. READ MORE

  5. 5. Characterisation of starch: development of analytical methods

    Author : Gunilla Nilsson; Centrum för analys och syntes; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; substitution pattern; microdialysis; HPAEC-PAD; NMR; biosensor; IMER; potato amylopectin starch; amylose; amylopectin; chain length; Analytical chemistry; Analytisk kemi;

    Abstract : Starch, comprised of amylose and amylopectin, is a very complex biopolymer. Different methods are therefore needed for the investigation of the molecular structures of amylose and amylopectin. In this thesis analytical methods have been developed and various techniques were combined for the characterisation of starch. READ MORE
