  1. 1. Identification and Characterization of Peptides and Proteins using Fourier Transform Ion Cyclotron Resonance Mass Spectrometry

    University dissertation from Uppsala : Acta Universitatis Upsaliensis

    Author : Magnus Palmblad; Uppsala universitet.; [2002]
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Materials science; Peptide; protein; peptide mass fingerprinting; identification; sequencing; protein structure; non-covalent interaction; modification; electrospray ionization; liquid chromatography; capillary electrophoresis; electron capture dissociation; Fourier transform ion cyclotron resonance mass spectrometry; cerebrospinal fluid; amyloid β-peptide; Alzheimer’s disease.; Materialvetenskap; TECHNOLOGY Materials science; TEKNIKVETENSKAP Teknisk materialvetenskap; Molecular Biotechnology; Molekylär bioteknik;

    Abstract : Mass spectrometry has in recent years been established as the standard method for protein identification and characterization in proteomics with excellent intrinsic sensitivity and specificity. Fourier transform ion cyclotron resonance is the mass spectrometric technique that provides the highest resolving power and mass accuracy, increasing the amount of information that can be obtained from complex samples. 2. 2. Lipoproteomics A New Approach to the Identification and Characterization of Proteins in LDL and HDL

    University dissertation from Institutionen för molekylär och klinisk medicin

    Author : Helen Karlsson; Linköpings universitet.; Linköpings universitet.; [2007]
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; LDL; HDL; Proteomik; Atheroskleros; Masspektrometri; 2-DE; MEDICINE Morphology; cell biology; pathology Pathology Molecular medicine; MEDICIN Morfologi; cellbiologi; patologi Patologi Molekylär medicin;

    Abstract : A proteomic approach was applied to examine the protein composition of low-density lipoprotein (LDL) and high-density lipoprotein (HDL) in humans. LDL and HDL were isolated by density gradient ultracentrifugation, and proteins were separated with twodimensional gel electrophoresis (2-DE) and identified with peptide mass fingerprinting, using matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization-time of flight mass spectrometry, and with amino acid sequencing using electrospray ionization tandem mass spectrometry. 3. 3. Nanoporous Aluminum Oxide – A Promising Support for Modular Enzyme Reactors

    University dissertation from Uppsala : Acta Universitatis Upsaliensis

    Author : Marcus Kjellander; Uppsala universitet.; [2013]
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; nanoporous aluminum oxide; immobilized enzymes; bioreactor; Biokemi; Biochemistry;

    Abstract : Nanoporous alumina is a rather newly characterized material that so far has found limited use in the construction of bioreactors. The material has many advantages compared to conventional immobilization matrices. I have investigated its use in flow-through bioreactors. READ MORE

  4. 4. Development of new methods for miniaturized separation techniques

    University dissertation from Karlstad : Karlstads universitet

    Author : Marcus Öhman; Karlstads universitet.; [2004]
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Kemi; Chemistry;

    Abstract : The aim of this study has been to develop and investigate separation methods for miniaturized systems. Micro liquid chromatography was coupled on-line with a mass spectrometer equipped with an electrospray ionization source for the separation and characterization of flavonoids in Citrus juices. 5. 5. Health Promoting Effects of Bioactive Peptides in Milk - Studies on Cultured Normal Cells and Cancer Cells

    University dissertation from Karlstad : Karlstads universitet

    Author : Catja Freiburghaus; Lunds universitet.; Lund University.; [2010]
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY;

    Abstract : Popular Abstract in Swedish Mjölk och mjölkprodukter har länge varit en viktig del av vår föda. Studier som undersöker förekomst av sjukdomar i olika befolkningsgrupper och vilka faktorer som påverkar dessa, så kallade epidemiologiska studier, har visat på ett samband mellan mjölkdrickande och minskad risk för flera cancerformer, bland andra tjocktarmscancer.
