  1. 1. Investigations on Emission Sources in Proton-Nucleus and Nucleus-Nucleus Collisions

    Author : Johan Mårtensson; Partikel- och kärnfysik; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; High energy interactions; Fysik; Physics; correlation function.; fermion interferometry; t p and d p ratios; target mass dependence; pion angular distribution; pion excitation function; Heavy ion reactions; intermediate energy; cosmic rays; Kosmisk strålning; högenergi;

    Abstract : Emission sources in proton-nucleus and nucleus-nucleus collisions at intermediate energies have been studied. Pion excitation functions from the absolute threshold to 500 MeV have been measured with an ion beam of continuously varying energy with an energy resolution of 1 MeV. READ MORE

  2. 2. Double Pion Production in the dd to αππ reaction

    Author : Samson Keleta; Pia Thörngren Engblom; Bo Höistad; Hans Ströher; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : Nuclear physics; ABC effect; double pion; Kärnfysik; Nuclear Physics; kärnfysik;

    Abstract : The reaction dd → 4Heππ has been measured exclusively for the first time. The measurements were performed at Td = 712 MeV and Td = 1029 MeV, with the WASA detector assembly at CELSIUS (Uppsala-Sweden). The aim was to investigate a long standing puzzle, the so called ABC effect. READ MORE

  3. 3. Electromagnetic and Spin Properties of Hyperons

    Author : Elisabetta Perotti; Stefan Leupold; Luis Alvarez Ruso; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Electromagnetic form factors; hyperon physics; dispersion relations; QCD; chiral perturbation theory; CP violation; Fysik; Physics;

    Abstract : The study of hyperons improves our understanding of nature in multiple ways. The intrinsic properties of hadrons are not fully understood at a fundamental level. Hence, the electromagnetic properties of hyperons provide complementary information to that of the nucleon and therefore allow for a broader investigation of the structure of matter. READ MORE
