  1. 1. Carbon materials: towards a circular economy through thermochemical recycling of mixed waste

    Author : Isabel Cañete Vela; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; plastic waste; circular economy; thermochemical recycling; mixed waste; recycling; Carbon materials; steam cracking;

    Abstract : Carbon-containing materials, such as paper, wood, plastic, and textiles, are essential for our daily lives, being used in everything from clothing to infrastructure. However, their use typically follows a linear pattern, in that we extract carbon resources, create products, and eventually dispose of them, thereby contributing to greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions throughout the supply chain. 2. 2. Automation in the Recycling Industry : Recycling of Plastic and Large Liquid Crystal Displays

    Author : Kristofer Elo; Erik Sundin; Kerstin Johansen; Mats Björkman; Glenn Johansson; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : In a world of growing population and increasing prosperity, the demand for new high-technology products is increasing together with the demand for rawmaterials. To be able to deal with the demand for new raw materials and the increasing amount of waste, the recycling industry needs to prepare itself to cope with these changes. READ MORE

    Abstract : The potential for recycling various polymeric materials contained within buildings constructed in the late 1960s and 1970s in Sweden was investigated during the course of this work. Three residential blocks were studied to establish the quantity of materials available for recycling, to investigate the difficulty in and time needed for the dismantling of the buildings, the degree of purity of the materials, and the possibility of separating the materials.
