21. Excess pore water pressure generation in fine granular materials under cyclic loading -A laboratory study
Abstract : Abstract Excess pore water pressure can be generated in subgrades of both railway and pavement sub-structures under cyclic loading caused by heavy traffic. When saturated subgrades are subjected to cyclic loading, excess pore water pressures accumulate over time which then could lead to migration of particles into overlying layers. READ MORE

22. Dynamics of Enzyme Immobilization in Mesoporous Silica Particles
Abstract : The focus of this thesis is placed on the dynamic behavior of proteins in confining environments which is studied as a scientific challenge for a deeper understanding of the immobilization mechanism and a better designing of enzyme immobilization in porous materials. Enzymes are immobilized in porous materials to improve the enzyme activity and simplify their purification from the product solution in biocatalytic applications. READ MORE

23. Water and alkali salts in the hydrating and hardened green cement-based materials: Hydration process, moisture content and transport
Abstract : Reducing CO2 emissions in the production of cementitious binder is the most effective way to decrease the environmental impact of the construction industry, so a large amount of supplementary cementitious materials (SCMs) has been used in the green concrete. Both the SCMs and alkali salts in binders influence the hydration process and the structure in hardened cement-based materials. READ MORE

24. Synthesis and Characterization of Functional Polymers Based on Trimethylolpropane Trimethacrylate and Glycidyl Methacrylate
Abstract : Copolymers of trimethylolpropane trimethacrylate (TRIM) and glycidyl methacrylate (GMA) were prepared with various monomer-to-solvent ratios, GMA to TRIM ratios and with various types of porogens. These parameters affected the inner morphology of the polymers and various pore surface areas (100-500 m2/g) and pore size distributions were obtained. READ MORE

25. Manufacturihng of heavy rings and large copper canisters by plastic deformation
Abstract : Plastic deformation processes transform material fromas-received state to products meeting certain requirements inproperties, microstructure and shape. To achieve thistransformation, the relationship between material response andprocess conditions should be understood. READ MORE
