  1. 1. Relay Feedback and Multivariable Control

    Author : Karl Henrik Johansson; Institutionen för reglerteknik; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; robotics; Automation; Frequency methods; Process control; Sequential control; Automatic tuning; Control education; Laboratory process; Performance limitations; Decentralized control; Multivariable zero; Multivariable systems; Hybrid control; Nonlinear dynamics; Limit cycles; Oscillations; Relay feedback; Sliding modes; control engineering; Automatiska system; robotteknik; reglerteknik;

    Abstract : This doctoral thesis treats three issues in control engineering related to relay feedback and multivariable control systems. Linear systems with relay feedback is the first topic. Such systems are shown to exhibit several interesting behaviors. READ MORE

  2. 2. Multiantenna Cellular Communications : Channel Estimation, Feedback, and Resource Allocation

    Author : Emil Björnson; Björn Ottersten; Mats Bengtsson; Marios Kountouris; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; channel estimation; limited feedback; multicell communications; resource allocation;

    Abstract : The use of multiple antennas at base stations and user devices is a key component in the design of cellular communication systems that can meet the capacity demands of tomorrow. The downlink transmission from base stations to users is particularly limiting, both from a theoretical and a practical perspective, since user devices should be simple and power-efficient, and because many applications primarily create downlink traffic (e. 3. 3. Learning With Selective Feedback : Effects on Performance and Coding of Unknown Outcomes

    Author : Ebba Elwin; Peter Juslin; Robin Hogarth; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Cognitive science; Kognitionsforskning; Psychology; psykologi;

    Abstract : In experiential learning, one important source of information is the feedback that people receive on the outcomes of their decisions. Typically, however, feedback is systematically absent for many decisions and the actual experience of people may therefore be highly selective. READ MORE

  4. 4. The brain-pituitary-gonadal axis of the three-spined stickleback, Gasterosteus aculeatus

    Author : Yi Ta Shao; Bertil Borg; Sylvie Dufou; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; BPG axis; GnRH; lh-β; fsh-β; three-spined stickleback; Gasterosteus aculeatus; homeostasis; feedback; funktionell zoomorfologi; Functional Zoomorphology;

    Abstract : The seasonal reproduction of the three-spined stickleback is stimulated by long day photoperiod. As in other vertebrates, the reproductive system of stickleback is regulated by the brain-pituitary-gonadal (BPG) axis which is largely controlled by feedback effects. Both negative and positive feedback effects on the BPG axis have been found in fish. READ MORE

  5. 5. Interventions for safe and healthy work

    Author : Mats Eklöf; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Keywords : Ergonomics; feedback; fishery; intervention; occupational injury; participatory; psychosocial factors; risk perception; safety attitudes; VDU-work;

    Abstract : The general aim of this thesis was to contribute to the research-based knowledge about associations 1) between individual psychological and social factors, respectively, and activity in safety work; 2) between general characteristics of working-environment change processes, on the one hand, and working environment characteristics, and health-related symptoms, on the other; 3) between working life interventions and activity to modify the working environment, working environment characteristics, and health-related symptoms.Associations between psychological and social factors, respectively, and activity in safety work were explored in a questionnarie study among Swedish fishermen.
