    Abstract : This investigation is devoted to the study of welding and its effect on the workpiece, focusing on the thermo and fluid dynamical phenomena occuring during a autogenous or nonautogenous arc fusion welding process. Its aim is to simulate the behaviour of the weld pool and analyze the consequence of the solid-liquid phase change, thus obtaining a methodology for predicting the appearance of weld defects related to solidification and cooling. Abstract : Many companies around the world have implemented Six Sigma as a problem solving methodology especially useful for dealing with recurring problems in business processes. Since the 1980s when it was developed at Motorola, many companies have tried to implement Six Sigma to fit their own company’s culture and goals. READ MORE

  3. 3. Simulations of Evaporation Plants in Kraft Pulp Mills: Including Lignin Extraction and Use of Excess Heat

    Author : Marcus Olsson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; kraft pulp mill.; lignin extraction; heat integration; process integration; energy saving; excess heat; simulation; Energy-efficient evaporation; modelling;

    Abstract : In this thesis, evaporation plants at kraft pulp mills are simulated with the purpose of making them more energy efficient. The work is important since energy saving is assumed to be one of the major solutions for handling the world's energy demand in the future. READ MORE

  4. 4. Process Design for Ultrafiltration of Complex Process Streams

    Author : Anna-Karin Nordin; Avdelningen för kemiteknik; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; bleach plant effluent; Ultrafiltration; process design; optimization;

    Abstract : Considerable effort has been dedicated over the years to model and simulate the ultrafiltration process. Most approaches are theoretical and therefore not applicable to industrial process streams. When treating such solutions, a combination of experiments and simulations is needed. READ MORE

  5. 5. A study of mold flux entrapment and gas entrainment in an ingot casting process

    Author : Jun Yin; Mikael Ersson; Pär Jönsson; Yogeshwar Sahai; KTH; []
